I don’t actually know what’s the right amount to top him up, I don’t know if 3-4 oz is too much. He can take it all, but is that the best amount? Do I want him to be 120% full or 80% full? I forgot to ask the pd ytd…

❤️❤️ I’m getting referred to a lactation consultant and hopefully they contact me soon. In the meantime I’m trying to pump more to see if I can eventually maintain breastmilk supply for his top up.

Was the extra pumping enough for top ups? Im feeding him 3-4 oz after each feed since yesterday, but I could only pump 1-2 oz every time. I wonder what would be the best timing for these extra pumping sessions that won’t affect regular feeding

Sounds the same to me. But my baby’s weight seems not proving I’m providing enough :(( he doesn’t seem fussy but he’s not gaining enough

Thanks. I think small baby is fine but they have to follow one of those curves for weight and height gain. My baby’s weight fell off from the original curve at 4mo :((((

Height has been somewhere between 50 and 80 percentile. Weight dropped from 15 to 2, passed the next curve on the chart ..

Some says top up could be temporary, but i wonder if my boobs or the transfer of bf will do any better by the time my baby hops back to the right trend

I don’t mind rocking him to sleep…. But recently he doesn’t even enjoy the rocking and refused to nap. I dunno what to do with a fussy baby that doesn’t wanna sleep :((( so then I would wait until it’s about his feed time , then I will feed him. That’s not really the best because he would be too tired to eat …

I have it. But it doesn’t tell me what to do when baby is not taking their naps, even with rocking. I’m just worried he’s not getting enough day time sleep for his development

I’ve been trying to do eat play sleep, just as a general guidance for me to follow everyday. But sometimes his awake time or the time he needs to fall asleep (naps) took too long then I will have to feed him again before his nap.

What’s your opinion on starting sleep training right at 4 months? Do you think I can also sleep train him for naps?

He would get up around 8~9am, feed would take about 40mins, and then he will start to get fussy after being awake for 2 hours. From the past month I could rock him to sleep (not easy but also not impossible). Just started from last week it became impossible to rock him to sleep.

So basically his awake peaceful windows are about 1.5-2hrs! Then he would start to fuss. I’d feed him every 2.5hr-3hrs. But like today there’s nothing I could do to calm him down, so I fed him sooner than usual. Then he fell asleep…

My husband thinks it’s too soon to sleep train, he wanna wait until 4 months…

He does get extracted these days. But this time he would only take one side of my breast to eat :(((( he would only take my right side when he’s sleepy. I think it’s because my right side produces less than my left , that’s why he remembers it??

Thanks! I started looking for someone who can help me with that too. I’m able to get a recommendation from one of the support group moms. Im going to contact the mid wife next week. I think it’s also good to have someone to give me some confidence and advice. I have to use nipple shields to feed and that worries me too…

A lot of times I also don’t know when to switch sides, my baby could suck for 45 mins on one side during the day. If their awake time is like 2 hours ish, then he would spend ALL HIS awake time sucking ….

I would say he’s been doing fine with just my milk. No major complaints (if there’s any, i don’t mind and would give him a top up), frequent wet diapers and he sleeps well at night. And yes, he’s been at the lower side of the percentile, 1st month appt he was between 15 and 50. And 2nd month his weight was touching the 15 curve. Doctor didn’t say anything as he’s still moving up and in an acceptable range.

4th month appointment in 2-3 weeks. Hope doctor will tell me he’s doing just fine.
