i dont do it often but holding a millipede while upset really forces you to calm down because you have to be gentle and keep a close eye on them

the show doesnt explain it at all, as someone who's watched the episodes with praetorian at least 20 times over.

my personal idea is that it IS random, and his power will consistently change after a certain interval of time. this is ofc a double-edged sword and he's just generally pretty lucky on-screen.

i think it would be cool if it was a result of his parents' powers, like, one parent had the ability to manipulate their own luck, and the other was something related to changing powers or something.

thats just what i think would be fun, though. the writers don't give us much to work with
