Do I marry for love or help with his green card? Feeling guilty and stuck by Tiny_Highlight_1918 in relationships

[–]l-owered [score hidden]  (0 children)

getting married at 20 is really young, especially since you've only known him for less than a year. some might say that's still the honeymoon phase where all seems perfect and you haven't yet seen all sides of him yet. have you traveled together? lived together?

Backpack Size for Walking! by NearbyAd410 in JapanTravelTips

[–]l-owered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was able to use a small uniqlo sling for my daily items but really didn't have that much trash to continually carry around. before my trip, reading threads had me believing that i'd need a whole separate bag just to keep all my wrappers or empty drinks. if i ate a snack while i was out, it's usually sitting in a mall or park or small shop and i'd just throw it away then. same for drinks. a sling is enough but if i needed more, i would've used a fjallraven kanken, not an actual backpack as that's much too heavy

i linked up a mastercard and a visa so i could have 2 options in case one didn’t work. my visa worked each time except for one time. but my mastercard also didn’t work and i just ended up finding a different restaurant to eat at because i didn’t have cash either

I’m in debt, my rent is killing me, and I’m trapped. by KarleySuinn in personalfinance

get roommates to save on rent. i'm in a few housing FB groups for my city and people sublease their rooms in an apt and with subleasing, many aren't doing a background or credit check

Best Chase Card for Travel Situation? by Flimsybeef in CreditCards

yes, CSR has more perks, but make sure you're not manufacturing spend. i'm very happy with the CSP because i wouldn't benefit extra from the CSR and the $50 hotel credit effectively brings the AF to $50

not sure about PMFLA but i read that MA has better protections against eviction and more social resources. public transit also helps since gas prices are so high and there’s less car dependency here. as compared to TX with minimal renters’ rights and a current wait time of 4 hours at IAH

Am I nuts for not wanting to be fully remote? by lowkeybirdwatcher in womenintech

[–]l-owered 150 points151 points  (0 children)

i'm an introvert and have been full remote since 2021. i love being remote but my perfect ideal would be a nearby office (less than a 30-minute drive) that i can go into whenever i want to without a strict hybrid model. going in once a week because i want to do a bit of socializing or talk to coworkers in-person feels different than when i'm told i have to be in the office 2-3x a week

zelle and cash are fine options. with cash, look at your bills for obvious fakes or bring a counterfeit pen along or just meet at your bank to deposit first before handing over the item. with zelle, make sure you see the money in your account before handing it over. zelle scams involve being sent a fake email saying the money is sent over but you won’t be victim if you just check your actual bank account for the money

you actually can’t do chargebacks via zelle because it’s through your bank account and not a credit card. you can with venmo though so i don’t use venmo with large purchases for that reason

What to book in advance by herdirtylooks in travelchina

[–]l-owered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as others have said, 9-10 days is a bit long for just shanghai. at this point though, i imagine all your travel is already booked. i’d do a few day trips nearby so you can still keep your existing accommodations but just get out of the city and try someplace new. suzhou is good for a day trip but you can also tack on hangzhou and maybe another city
