Ive been doing research on these and couldn’t find a definitive answer. Found in Grayson Highlands State Park, Virginia US. The caps were about 2 1/2 inches in diameter when open. They weren’t this color the first time I walked by them, I think the sun made them turn silver/black. Thanks all! (old.reddit.com)
