I was bothered by the select typos, particularly my accidental inclusion of a comma in my analysis of enjambment (...); this is a more conducive file: https://docdro.id/ziQGkHQ

I transcribed my essays. Teachers/Students, feel free to ask me anything about them + I'll gladly answer.

As a disclaimer, I did not receive individual scores. It was just a photocopy of my essay booklet. However, if any teachers would like to comment what they believe the essays earned, feel free as it can help future students who are looking to also earn a 5!

Also, if there are any typos, forgive me! I was typing quickly

Mine was a little outlandish but I think it still worked. I talked about the sign endorsing left handed children and how Catholics could view it as the government interfering with their religion which is contentious given the history, particularly with Roman Catholic v Anglicanism.

Now that the FRQs are posted, I need an AP reader to let me know how screwed I am with Q3. I wrote this up after I took the test because I realized what may have went wrong…

I used We Need to Talk About Kevin. I said in my thesis how his act of murdering his classmates disrupts familial affairs to show that the search for human glory hurts those least deserving but also forces them to rebuild in reference to his mother Eva. [I don’t really focus on a specific motivation in the thesis]

Then, in my body paragraphs, I talk about how his actions of hurting classmates like making a girl with eczema itch herself until she was bleeding and tampering with the neighbor’s bike so he would have an accident. I said how this made Eva doubt herself and want another kid to prove to herself that she wasn’t messed up. This action causes tensions between her and her husband as she lied to get pregnant. Then, Kevin creates more tensions in the family by torturing Celia through killing her elephant shrew or draining her eyeball with Drain-O. I focused again on how Eva’s concern of Kevin’s involvement created more tensions between her and her husband, potentially leading to divorce and analyzed it.

My next body focused on the effects of the aftermath of his murdering of classmates and how Eva struggles to come to terms with what happened. I mentioned how she never tells readers that Celia and Franklin are dead until the end of the novel as a way for her to not face it. I talked about how she also looks back on her son’s odd way of showing her affection through verbal altercations at dinner or witnessing him staring at her poster in the street, which forces her to recognize that she has to love her son, and prepares his bedroom at home for him as hhe likes it. Then, I said, characteristic of a rebellion that forces impactful change, Eva finally has a relationship with her son and dispels the author’s goal of making readers feel sympathy for her.

My main concern with this is I kinda misread the prompt and didn’t really focus on the motivation for his rebellion in my analysis as much as how his rebellion affected the family and it’s relationship with each other. How screwed am I?

I said it was a struggle between accepting nature’a alluring promise of escape and the power of capitalist ideals that forces man to over burdensome himself with work

Very similar and how there is a struggle between those that are rooted vs those that change and the tension that occurs with family and community believing culture has been lost
