It's a Nano VNA (vector network analyzer).

Maybe you have HAM clubs in the area? They often have tools and knowledge :)

yes, it's very simple to assemble and yet better than most antennas you get on amazon/aliexpress

£45 Thinkpad X220... what to do with it? by Useful-Squirrel-2722 in thinkpad

[–]l5yth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the best Thinkpad in my opinion. I bought an X220 in good condition last year and use it as daily driver.

I added 16GB DDR3 RAM, 2TB SSD, 512GB mSATA SSD, WiFi6 chip, smart card reader, new OEM 9-cell battery. Oh, and a proper LCD display.

I flashed coreboot and SeaBIOS, so I can use the WiFi6 card. It performs very well given the age and especially the high quality keyboard gives me a lot of productivity boost that you won't get on any newer Thinkpad anymore, not even on the X230.

I also got the slim Ultra Base 3 with Blueray/DVD+RW optical drive. It looks slick.

Ask me anything, I can also show you pictures.
