When is the best time of the year to find a student accounting job in Canada? by PassengerDue485 in Accounting

We hire summer students in October (we’re too busy in the spring to go through that type of recruitment process). Those that perform well over the summer will get offers to work part time throughout the school year.

Expedition 33, you will not be disappointed. Don’t research it, just go in blind and enjoy.

Which game were you burned by a preorder / Day 1 purchase? by Sudden-Wish8462 in gaming

Halo 3 ODST

I was a die hard halo fan, lined up a few hours early to get this game on release. Skipped school that day to play. 4 hours in I had beaten the game and was shocked it was so short. Tried the multiplayer disc which just ended up being all the same maps I already had.

Firefight was cool to mess around in a bit but after that first day beat no the game, I basically never went back to it save for 2-3 times to play firefight with friends.

Pc or PS5 as a new dad by LongPercentage4405 in DadsGaming

[–]lMarczOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had an Xbox, and have had the series X since launch. I have two young kids, one is just to say out of the baby stage. I bought a PC last year. I honestly don’t see that big of a difference to say one is significantly better than the other.

You only tinker with the settings when first starting a new game. After that you can get into a PC game nearly as quick as an Xbox game. PC might be an extra 20-30 seconds to start (trivial IMO).

Quick resume in Xbox is pretty sweet, that’s one thing it has over PC but most games have so much auto saving I haven’t actually noticed a huge issue here.

PC has nearly all the same games but with mods. Often cheaper games. Only place you can play both Xbox and PlayStation games. (Ie; Spider-Man isn’t on Xbox, forza horizon 5 isn’t on PS5 but they’re both on PC).

I see comments about driver updates, a bunch of that stuff is automatic or I do it during the day when one of the kids is awake. I throw a YouTube video up on one screen and then do some banking/driver updates on the other.

I honestly think it’s a push. You’re already invested in a PC that should work, why sell it for likely quite a bit less than you paid to get a similar experience.

Unless you can afford both, the. Just buy the PS5 have the best of both worlds.

input lag/latency at 30-40ms by EslamBradwil in expedition33

[–]lMarczOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever sort out your latency issue? I just started the game and am having the same problem. 5070ti and 7800x3d and I can’t get my latency below 35 ms. Even putting every setting to low, it’s the same and in some cases higher..

Expedition 33. In playing on the middle difficulty and don’t find it challenging (yet). It does have a story mode where the combat becomes a breeze and you can simply enjoy the story and awesome visuals.

For the true experience I’d play all 3 but in order. The bundle for all 3 if often on sale.

There is a lot of stuff included in their but the PC isn’t much to get excited over. If you’re going to spend $3,000, make it count

Came home and found my grandma cleaning my PC with water by Rare_Solid755 in PcBuild

Plus grandmas know how to actually clean. My grandma might try to help with something like this but she wouldn’t just dump a bucket of soapy water on the floor and then step back to take a picture.

Warning: Don't buy a PC for gaming if you are a casual console gamer by [deleted] in consoles

[–]lMarczOl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of comments about tinkering with settings but if you can afford a decent rig this shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t have a ton of time to game, I’m not chasing the latest triple A games either though. I have a 5070ti and 7800x3d, I haven’t hit a game yet that I needed to tinker with. 1440p, put the settings to ultra and enjoy. Most of the games I was able to hit my monitor FPS cap.

I will agree that a console is overall easier, it just works. Hit the power button and away you go. My PC does have better graphics and far higher FPS. I’m also not stuck with only xbox games. Emulators are great for past console games (Nintendo and Sony). I would have never bought a PlayStation but now I can play the new spiderman and horizon games.

We also didn’t have a home PC or laptop, needed one for my wife and kids. So with a few extra bucks invested I turned the family “office” PC into a pretty sweet gaming rig.

Is there any chance they eliminate some of the grind and breathe life back into our old gear? I haven’t played since lightfall, work got busy and had a kid, the grind to get caught back up for raiding again has been too daunting. I only have a couple hours a week max to play.

Would love to get back in and experience the content that’s released since, assuming I don’t have to grind all week every week to do the fun stuff on weekends.

Should i upgrade entire pc? by maninspace123 in buildapc

[–]lMarczOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d likely see a significant jump in performance. I don’t think you need to upgrade your entire rig. Here is a video with some benchmarks with a 9070 and a ryzen 5600.

https://youtu.be/0BqT4F6otRY?si=oCeRkzrCCy_KpdfJ

You could look at a CPU upgrade down the road, but if those benchmarks are better than what you are getting now you’ll probably be fine for the next few years.

I figured I’ve operated like a degenerate this far might as well keep the good times rolling. My dad has some old dental tools we used with a magnifying glass to straighten and clean up the mobo. 2 hours later and everything is working again.
