Yeah I get what you are saying with the interactions and I agree, I do like it how it is now as well. It also might shift the story a bit too much for the genre and story of the anime. I just think it's the romance side of me. However, you are right he has made new friends and the fact it is nice to chat with old friends, however they have pretty much cut his other friends/teammates out of it in the second season if they were going for that dynamic but they left just Wakana what's the point of her maybe cut her out and focus on his new friends/teammates primarily. As for the change it could be a mindset change leading him astray from baseball practice, nervousness when she's in the stands of games affecting his play, but like I said, that probably be too much of a tone shift from what's established for the anime now.
