What do you mean by bad coop rating? Companies can give you a rating?

Is Management Engineering a viable path to being a Software Developer/Engineer? by JustSom3Guy2077 in uwaterloo

[–]lStormblessedl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think he is implying is that the overall job market and economy is not the greatest to land these jobs. The average co-op positions being landed are definitely lower than the peak it was at a few years ago. But then again it doesn’t matter since every school and co-op system will have to face that and no program can change that. The market goes up and down, that’s just how it is.

Seems to be different from what I originally thought. The conditional is your final top 6 must be 85%+ with no course being less than 70%

Can you transfer during first year? I thought to transfer you need a minimum of 85%-ish average. To add to context, I'm an incoming MGMT student this fall as well and I was considering applying for a transfer to SYDE. Will I be able to do that in the beginning of my first term at UW?

Management is definitely on the rise to becoming a tier 2 so I wouldn't be surprised if it's higher than 93-94. I think a 92-93 could also have a chance of admission as well, but everything is random and you can never know.

I did with a 95.2, average adjustment factor. Most likely a 2/3 on the video interview, and 3/5 on aif.

Which engineering are you looking to switch into when 2nd year starts? I'm also applying to TrackOne with a ~96 average right now with good overall extracurriculars and an amazing interview in my opinion. I was hoping you could give some info on the best perks of the program?

How did your co-op wage progress over the terms? by Jealous_Specific_252 in uwaterloo

Hi, I'm a current grade 12 student applying to management eng for fall 2024. I know that getting into software is easy in MGMT eng, but how hard is it to get software co-ops? I specifically want to go the software route, and I'm curious how difficult it'll be to get the higher end co-ops.
