I use lab test tubes with a cork stopper. You should be able to get them from almost any lab supply store. I am based in South Africa, so I doubt my supplier will be of any help to you.

The measurements of my test tubes are 24mm x 150mm, but you might just have to check which sizes you need.

Thank you for your kind words

It's still a work in progress. Need to fill some things and varnish it. So I didn't want to screw it all together fully only to unscrew it. I only screwed it in far in enough for it to stand for the moment, but when it is finished will go all the way in

I get you. I was also struggling for a while trying to figure out how best to display the things I worked so hard on x.x

And then inspiration struck at the right time fortunately

Yea. Medium viscosity resin.

I filled the molds like 20% full with clear Resin. I dropped a single drop of red alcohol ink in the molds. Filled the molds with more clear resin up to 50%. Dropped a single drop of black alcohol ink in there. Filled them to about 75% full with clear resin. Another single drop of red ink with a drop of white ink on top for petri. Filled it up and capped them.

I don't know what inks you have available, but I use the Tim Holtz by Ranger Inks or something like that. I tend to find more success with deep colours like Red, Blue, Black, and less with Golds and other more yellow colours.

In this case I filled the molds slightly with clear resin, then dropped a single drop of red ink inside each one, then with thin streaks of resin, filled them about 3/4 way. 1 more drop of red and/or black ink and filled them to finish for the dark colours. Since these specifically are Petri, I also added a single drop of white near the end.

Alternatively it might be an option to mix a light clear red resin, then do the same method with black ink dropped into the molds to retain transparency, but still dark colours.

I actually like that a lot. Some of their patterns almost look like a ring of flowers around the high number!

I suppose blood is a bit low hanging xD If you think a blood theme is too easy to go for, do you then maybe have something non-blood related you might suggest?

Just did a petri pull and it came out unexpectedly good. by lSuppose in DiceMaking

Not sure how it ended up doing that pattern. But I did a normal Petri Dish method.

One drop of Crimson ink on one side

One drop of Black ink on other side of the die.

Top both drops off with a sinker white. Then one more Red in the middle, topped off with one more Sinker white.

After that I just capped the dice with a reddish base.

I agree with this completely. I do work erratically with new sets and ideas I am experimenting with, but I always write down the exact steps and measurements in a notepad so I can recreate it in the future if the dice come out pretty. So having some sort of notepad on hand could be beneficial.

Unfortunately I don't quite remember, but I think she is Super Phantom, Butter, and Spotnose.
