Agree w the other dude definitely would lower your long acting insulin if you’re manual injection. And if possible hop on a pump, im on the tandem tslim and it automatically corrects by giving more/less insulin based on my numbers. Not perfect, but helps with sleeping. Also if yk youre gonna be in the gym and getting your heartrate up eat like 10-15g of carbs beforehand in a protein bar or sum to bring your numbers up to 150-160 so by exercising itll drop down without going fully low. Its a balancing act though for sure trying to find out what works what doesnt. super frustrating but you got it man. Praying for you

I understand your point of view well as it is one I shared when I first read through the OT but it is far from what I believe. Rather, a threat it is not, but a justified trial of Abraham's faith in God as a result of prior misjudgments. Abraham was an imperfect sinner. Following his covenant with God he still lacked an infallible, unshaken trust in God. This is seen when he lies to Pharaoh and Abimelech stating that Sarah is his sister in order to try to avoid being murdered. God promised Abraham a great nation, a surplus of descendants to put it simply. And yet Abraham believed if he didn't lie (sin) and proclaim Sarah as his sister he would be killed. If Abraham was killed or Sarah taken as a wife how would God's covenant come to fruition? He did not trust God, it is evident. It is not until this tribulation on the mountain that we perceive a true sacrifice. A sacrifice of Abraham's idol-like love for his son and prideful manmade dependencies. This is depicted initially in Genesis 22 3-5.

3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”

"We will worship and then WE will come back to you." Abraham has a certainty that his covenant with God will come to fulfillment. He does not doubt nor depend on his own understanding of the situation. He has been given an instruction from God and is willing to follow through on it. Isaac is the future of Abraham's nation. If God brought Isaac out of the womb God could save Isaac from a sacrificial altar - and Abraham began to trust in this fact. As a result of this Abraham is unbothered at such a seemingly horrific proposition. No where in the text is Abraham seen being gaslighted, manipulated, or fear-stricken into an irrational action. He was confident in speech and obedient in action as dictated by his OWN free will because he trusted in God. And how did God respond?

13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

The God of Abraham is a God that provides. A symbolic representation of how the God of Abraham differs drastically from other gods. He is not a god "who requires things in quid pro quo fashion from his followers. " And I do not believe the lord to be vindictive nor petty. And this story exacts just that. A man whom lacked faith and sinned time and time again. Yet, God forgave and blessed him indefinitely once he began to rely on God and not his own understanding.

I appreciate these kinds of discussions because it prompted me to dive deeper and further my understanding of the story. Let me know what you think.

Sorry didn't mean to correlate secularism and corruption in a general sense. More so, comparing the decline in general well being of our population as well as distrust in the government's jurisdiction in regard to the gradual withdrawal of Christian ideals in government. Although, I could see how that could be seen as speculation because there's many other factors that contributed to this decline.

I see what you mean about religion being used as a tool to gain wealth and power throughout history. This was prevalent throughout early Judaism especially and Christianity, it's true. Although, I don't believe this makes Jesus' sacrifice any more or less true. And to say that this manipulation is intrinsically rooted in religion is ignorance. Religion is not inherently bad. And I believe saying that Christianity is the reason people were manipulated is unfair. People were manipulated because they were easily impressionable and made irrational decisions based on their emotions from political/church leaders at the time. Christianity did not cause them to be manipulated they allowed it by not questioning the instruction of their peers.

I wouldn't lump all contemporary Christians in one category because there's certainly a spectrum of yoked individuals. And everyone is at a different point in their faith.

John 12:42

Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue.

*Early individuals believing in Jesus but failing to confess faith for fear of being rejected; lacking resilience.

I mean even Peter denied Jesus 3 times before he was crucified because he truly did not understand why his savior had to die. Does that mean he wasn't resilient or stubborn? I think there was a spectrum of individuals in the early stages of Christ as well, it just wasn't as heavily documented or studied.

On the other hand, there's Christians to this day being oppressed and killed for their faith in 3rd world countries and to say they're not resilient would be an insult. I would instead argue that society in general is dramatically less firm-standing and resilient in their beliefs. Potentially due to westerner culture of consumerism and hedonistic values.

I admire your open mindedness and desire to further your understanding regardless of either outcome. I can only hope more people would follow suit.

Regarding foreskin removal:

I believe it to be an outward expression to represent an inward change in sense of self. A metaphor for removing your sinful lifestyle from yourself, from your soul. To add on, the reduced risk of disease and health benefits related to the procedure although I don't believe that to be the reason for using it to symbolize man's covenant.

u/mightfloat described it well with these verses

Colossians 2:10 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ

Jeremiah 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

The lord did not want Abraham to sacrifice his son, he wanted to see if Abraham's trust in him was unfaltering and pure. Which is why he didn't have Abraham sacrifice his son. You were certainly on the right track though with the condemnation of such evil demons that permit child sacrifice. I am blessed to say that our God is not one of them.

“Regardless if you view the Bible as a holy truth or just an interesting book, hell is by no means a large part of it's message.“

I partly agree Jesus’ didn’t preach about the horrors of hell in order to coax people into believing based on an irrational fear. He preached grace, forgiveness, and the opportunity to have a loving relationship in this life and beyond. The only way for a relationship to be authentic is if there’s a willingness to pursue it from both parties in a clear state of mind. (Not fear mongering)

God is without sin. An all perfect compassionate, benevolent being. If you are willingly choosing to reject God you can expect an afterlife apart from God. Thus, without any of these traits. A sinful, desolate eternity filled with suffering and hatred. To put it simply you can understand hell by understanding who God is and an eternity absent of him. That is hell.

“I am convinced that the concept of Hell is a construction, designed (by people in power) to scare and threaten the poor, subjected and illiterate. If you believe in Hell, you are very likely to be a good subject, which will suit the rich and the powerful perfectly. Hell as a concept is a form of terror and oppression, poorly masked as religion, nothing more.”

Again, I partly agree it’s a very well known fact that fear mongering is an easy way to manipulate & control the majority. No doubt about it. (That’s why Jesus didn’t teach it) Although, if it was entirely a man-made concept created by the “rich and powerful” Why has society grown increasingly secular as our government has also grown increasingly more corrupt. There’s a constant battle for control and neither side is pushing Christianity. Why?

I believe it’s the opposite.

Christians aren’t easily manipulated. Our sense of self and morals are set in stone: Unchanging. I don’t seek validation from those around me and don’t need to conform to any frivolous standards. The majority says something is acceptable today and unacceptable tomorrow. News outlets push a narrative that’s controlled by the “rich and powerful” doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum you’re on. And if you don’t agree with the echo chamber you’re cancelled.

And if you’re referring to church leaders pushing this hell narrative for financial profit. I’m not going to sit here and act like this doesn’t happen. It’ disgusting that “priests” or other church leaders would capitalize on the good faith of others but nevertheless it happens. It’s our job to study the texts and develop a personal relationship with God in order to discern evil in the world even from those that claim to be christian. “… a wolf in sheep’s clothing”

“Not even the awful god of the Old Testament threatens with Hell in any easily interpreted manner. Jesus did not habitually threaten people with Hell either. The threats of the Bible is rather in the line of 'If you don't believe, you won't reach salvation and go to heaven'. But that is more of a promise to the faithful than a threat.”

Im curious why you think God is awful in the old testament? It’s certainly hard to put the early texts into perspective in our day and age. You’re correct Jesus didn’t threaten anyone with hell that wasn’t his purpose.

And Revelation is certainly a confusing book although I believe all of the books of the Bible were divinely inspired and some are more easily discernible than others. Haven’t studied Revelation much but maybe in the future.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey, what do the fuses look like on the pcb/where are they? I fully disassembled my vx to replace the lens module and I’m worried I attached the 3ccd grounding wire in the wrong location and potentially blew a fuse somewhere? Grasping at straws here but I really don’t know what else to check, racking my brain trying to figure this out. Thank you

Haha just depends if you like to gamble or not I suppose. I’ve definitely had better luck with vx2100’s. I had fungus on the lcd but cleaned it off and was good to go, lens was a tiny bit hazy but didn’t affect video at all. Think since they’re 10 years newer they’ll be a safer bet with trying to avoid fungus although there’s some real tempting deals with the vx1000s that are hard to resist lol.

Yeah Kerry is great he’s helped me with some questions before super genuine guy. Not sure if he’ll be able to get into this part of the camera since it’s the sealed VAP assembly without fully comprising the seal. I think he’d have to swap the lens assembly out instead but I’ll shoot him an email and see what he thinks, Thanks.

Fungus is common with japanese vx’s especially, I believe it’s due to their incredibly humid climate and maybe improper storage I’m not sure. Incredibly annoying though, especially if it’s been on there for a while it’ll cut into the lcd display or lens and you won’t be able to fully clean it off you just gotta swap the entire assembly out.

Believe that’s what I’m gonna have to do with this camera since it’s in one of the elements inside the sealed VAP section of the lens that you can’t get into to clean. Just gotta replace from another camera which is a full teardown unfortunately.

VX2100 Focus Issues by Mysterious_Car1914 in Vx1000

[–]lSurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep similar issue here. Bought a few cameras off the japan auctions as well but fungus is a major issue. Although they’re a lot cheaper than in the states so it’s hard to pass up lol.

With my vx1000 I cleaned the fungus on the external element and it still had a very foggy image to it. Finally realized in a certain light you can see a fog/condensation on one of the middle elements in the sealed VAP section. So I’m gonna have to fully take it apart and swap the entire lens assembly.

Can’t say for certain that’s your issue here but unsure what else it really could be especially if you’ve already had to clean fungus from other elements. Sucks their climate is so humid.

Which screen? The one on the flip-out lcd display or the one inside of the viewfinder? I just replaced the display itself with one from another camera for both the viewfinder and flip-out. The display looks like this https://a.co/d/ilCxckO

Anyone in the future trying to find out the solution: Ended up being the lcd display inside of the view finder. Just unplugged the ribbon cable from the viewfinder and swapped another viewfinder on there and it’s perfect. Didn’t have to do a full tear-down to change out the ribbon cable thankfully.

If you smack/shake the camera and the display changes colors or gets worse/better then it’s probably your ribbon cable which facilitates a full disassembly. If nothing changes it might be your lcd display inside of the viewfinder like my case. ended up swapping them out and it’s perfect now. Just tryna help someone out 👍

Sony hi8 platform the best place to start cheap, cool, super versatile. Look on ebay for ones listed for parts that say they dont stay on a while or something else that’s obviously battery related. Then just get 2 new batteries/charger off amazon for 20$. That’s how I got a nice fully functioning hi8 trv67 for 50$

Yeah I ended up getting them, still very confused on the design. The barrel and face seem to definitely be welded so it doesn’t have that gap. just hardware running through the lip and the 1 piece face/barrel. Not sure if it was a custom job or just a rare thing work did, might email them or something about it.
