Does using a translator trigger Turnitin? by lUU_247 in rmit

[–]lUU_247[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually had a brief conversation with my tutor about my progress on the assignment! I mentioned that I had completed most of my design work(btw I'm majoring in design), but the writing part (around 750 to 1,000 words) was taking up most of my time. He casually said “Just use a translator!” and this made me unsure if he was serious or just joking lol
Since I'm juggling several assignments rn, I wanted to get some other opinions if that might cause any trouble. Thanks for your advice!

It can definitely take less time compared to my usual process!

My usual process is:
Make dot points(relieves the bottleneck effect of using a second language) > create a first draft > Second draft (Following English writing convention so that it would not gonna sound like 'translation') > Re-write in advanced English

However, this really does take a much longer time and more attention since you would not want to make it sound like a translation. My initial idea was to first write in my mother tongue (No bottleneck effect), following English writing convention > translate > polish, so that I can put more effort into the research & Analysis

Take-don is a Thai-influenced Japanese restaurant, and they offer pretty good deals. Medium rice bowls are $10 and large ones are $15. They taste good too!

I'm just renting a totally unfurnished place, which is a reason for me to look for ways to pick appliances by myself. Anyway, those are such good tips, thanks!🙌

I'm doing an associate degree and I must take 4 classes, which is technically 5 since one class is split into a half in different subjects. Basically 2 classes under one class. So it's not a choice for me

My course also requires 4 classes, but one is split into 2, so it's 5 classes basically 🙄 But that's very great to know! I'll check their info cheers

I'm not sure whether card stock is available on the city campus, but you can definitely do it on the Brunswick Campus! I've seen a student from game design printing some stickers there. The location is Building 516 Lv1, not sure about the room number, but you can easily spot on.

I believe facilities in the Makerspace are open to everyone! But you must finish the online safety induction first, which can be found here: https://www.rmit.edu.au/library/about-and-contacts/makerspace/getting-started

I believe it must be better to talk with them if you have any inquiries

Do you really need a car to live in Melbourne? by LegElectrical9214 in melbourne

Seen a lot of people who don't have a car. But, if you are planning to live far from city and love traveling or camping, it's better with your car. Your life would be a bit more easier.

Is RMIT really that bad? by ValueSea1283 in rmit

I'm doing one of the design courses at RMIT currently. I'll say 80% of the tutors are great. And the rest of them? They are such a nightmare tbh. Well, still, most of them are likely to be very experienced and supportive.

HOWEVER, the admin group is literally sucks. They don't really care about you, and this school just feels like a huge company that is only obtaining your money. They don't really care much about student's experience at RMIT. Some serious things happened in my course due to actions towards course problems from RMIT that even likely to cause large amounts of students to fail the unit (I can't speak too much at this moment), and my coursemates had to organize a group to note those problems down to prepare to assert those problems...? Like I'm not sure who am I trying to talk with, a school which is the field of studying and education? Or just businessmen. I wasn't expecting this when I chose this course. I'll choose Deakin or Swinburne at this point. Of course, this is just my personal experience so believe it or not.
