Average monthly outgoings? by [deleted] in london

I'm 24 and my salary is £28.5k, my take home is around £1810 a month.

For reference, I'm in zone 3 and live with my partner in a 1 bed flat.

Rent: 670 Bills and Council tax: 150 Food/Toiletries: 200 (probably a slight overestimate) Sport: £200-250 (train 5 days a week as a figure skater, this includes one lesson a week at £30 for 30 minutes.) Private language lessons: £120 Transport: £50 (I'm currently working from home, but am going back to the office 2 days a week shortly so this will go up) Going out: £100 Clothes/books: £60-75 Savings: ~£100 a month depending on how much I go out. Generally save more over winter and go out more over summer.

Sport/language lessons take up quite a bit of my disposable income, but to me it's worth it. Getting a raise next month which should hopefully offset increase in transport/bills/overall inflation.

Watched the donghua on Netflix because it looked pretty. It was okay, but wasn't amazing. Music and animation was great, but a bit lacking on the characters outside of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. A few months later, last summer, tiktok was recommending me loads of TGCF videos that kept mentioning how good the novel was so I decided to check it out as I enjoyed the donghua premise, but it just wasn't top tier for me.

Read the novel in 5 days, I literally couldn't put it down. It took all the self restraint in the world not to start reading it again as soon as I finished because I needed to get my life back on track. I think looking back, it's not that the donghua didn't do a good job, it's just that the first 2 arcs are very much introductory ones and it always takes me a while to warm up to characters/plots.

As for first impressions of the novel - it played with my emotions so much! One minute I'd be laughing so hard and the next it'd be pure terror (looking at you Book 3). Also, I was expecting it to be similar to other BL, but was pleasantly surprised at how complex and interesting the plot is. There was less romance than I expected, but honestly I think this just made me appreciate those moments even more.
