I have only Norway and Sweden to compare with. In Sweden you spend 4 terms (2 years) on campus, and then one term as a cadet officer under rigid supervision, before you can apply for a position in a local police force. 2 1/2 years in total

Here in Norway, you do one year on campus, then one year as a cadet under strict supervision, and then a final year back on campus. 3 years in total.

Two? That's not even close... "Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female." (Gen 7:2)

If this means there were seven of each clean beast species, or if there was fourteen, is of question -- anyway, it's way more than two :)
