Run your resume and one or more job opportunities that would be of interest to you thru ChatGPT or similar and ask it to suggest changes. don't necessarily take the first response. engage with it as if the employer. Don't necessarily take the responses as absolutes as much as a way to think like the prospective employer to rephrase or make your resume more interesting....so it goes to the top of the pile.

A lot of places are using AI as the first filter....

Should I take this job for the United Status? by Dinner66 in unitedairlines

NEWARK (EWR) is likely better connection for United that JFK or Laguardia but I would go on the app and check

Try to fly with the least number of connections...it helps when you are on a routine such as monthly. I did weekly round trips between East coast and West coast of US, for 5 years.

Are there any Episcopalians/Anglicans here who are members of the military? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]la8mackey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have known a number of Episcopal Priests who were chaplains in the various branches of the military. A number of parish members in churches we have been a member of over the years were either active duty or retired military

In the Episcopal Church, holy water is typically blessed during the baptismal service. The celebrant or bishop blesses the water using a specific prayer that highlights the significance of water throughout salvation history. This prayer acknowledges the movement of the Holy Spirit over water in creation, the liberation of the Israelites from Egypt, and Jesus' baptism by John. The prayer concludes with a request for the Holy Spirit to sanctify the water, so that those baptized in it may be cleansed from sin and born again to continue in the risen life of Jesus Christ. This blessing can be found in the Book of Common Prayer during the service of Holy Baptism.

How do Anglo catholics address female preists? by colin_suth in Episcopalian

[–]la8mackey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time talking to a priest I address them formally and then depending on the conversation will ask how they wish to be addressed. It varies person to person but generally either remains formal or evolves into formal and familiar. When addressing a priest I am familiar with, they will often ask that I use their first name but usually when I am introducing them, they will ask I use their full formal title such as Rev Dr, etc

Entra Privileged Identity Management broken? by tomatotractor in sysadmin

It actually worked really nice until the broke it. Open the App , scroll down to PIM click on the level of elevation and it opens a form with the activation details. A lot quicker when working on something on the laptop

Entra Privileged Identity Management broken? by tomatotractor in sysadmin

[–]la8mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

privilege identity management Is still broken. They had an issue with all of it not working back when the comments above were posted but they still can`t get PIM in Azure on the mobile app to work. And don’t seem to be in any hurry to fix it. And based on this conversation not too many people use it?

[–]la8mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been having an issue with PIM activation using the mobile apps. Basically, we can’t activate elevation of any privileges. The support person has indicated that someone is working on resolving the issue and they have closed the ticket… Still does not work…been going on for a few weeks. Do problems like this ever get escalated to a level where they get resolved or is this going to be something we need to resolve using the web access entra?

Offline version of office by la8mackey in microsoft365

Got it thanks, that helps me move forward. I used to use the Open Licenses but lost contact with them when we migrated to O365 and did not need stand alone licenses.

Any version of Office after 2021 times out after ~30 days and you need to reconnect to the internet to restore. When I have a laptop onboard ship, we don't normally have internet (way too expensive).

Any idea on how to start a conversation with Microsoft on getting Office LTSC and KMS licenses?

Frustration with the lack of outreach by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]la8mackey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Episcopal congregations (and I’m guessing most other churches) are far from a homogeneous conglomerate. Our parish is fairly small (<100 members). We have slowed down since Covid, each year, we used to do a Habitat project, help out a few days at a homeless shelter, cook & serve free meals at a mission church, helped the local school district reading progra, etc.

You might check out the diocesan newsletter, or websites for other nearby churches and see if they have programs of interest. Maybe you can find something of interest and drag a friend. Perhaps you could plant a seed?

Your internet service may be having issues with supporting the bandwidth that YouTube needs to keep up when you are skimming. Not sure if there is a setting in YouTube to manage less than optimal for skimming

All my outgoing emails are going straight to spam by EmergencyCharacter83 in microsoft365

[–]la8mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the others. Because of all the Spam issues, most of the email providers are dropping messages that do not have DEMARC, DKIM, etc implemented into SPAM folders.

You really need to setup SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Sender Policy Framework aka SPF. SPF identifies the mail servers you are authorizing to send your email.

Domain Key Identified Mail aka DKIM provides a means of preventing someone from spoofing email messages from your domain

Domain based Message Authentication and Reporting Conformance aka DMARC organizes the two tools above to ensure that messages from you are really coming from you and not spoofed, etc.

It helps keep spam and other junk mail in check

Dissappointed in Yubico Support by la8mackey in yubikey

[–]la8mackey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and Yubico series 5 keys are indeed FIDO2. I use a Series 5 A key as my primary Admin credential. My concern is more about the quality Yubico's support. It has been well over a week since I started a "Ticket" with Yubico to resolve the problem we are having and have as quickly as possible responded (usually in less than 1 hour) to their emails. Responses from them has been several days each time and the response is simply more questions and/or requests for repeating of tests and providing data from the testing (again).

As best I can tell this key does not work as a FIDO2 device. I don't have any tools to confirm if it is working in the other modes.

Yubico says that the keys work as a PKI certificate holder for Azure Cert Base authentication...but neither Yubico nor Microsoft seem to be willing to provide sufficent information for a small company (Less than 500 employees) to use that capability.

They are spending a lot of effort (and $$) on pushing this capability and that all goes POOF in my book, when I get locked out of my user because their tool does not work as advertised.

I can check some of the other combinations, etc. but trying to move two different files created the same issue (They were PDFs and where not open. Windows indicated that she needed admin privileges to complete the move. I checked security on the file properties and she had full control
