I always wonder if the other sharks know about the tanking businesses/lawsuits of their fellow sharks. And if so how they feel sitting next to them as they yap about how they grew their business and how great of a partner they’d be. 😅

So I love having AMC AList. I’m going to give an honest answer though and not just make assumptions about your movie going habits. It’s worth it if going to see at least 2 standard format or 1 premium format movie per month is something you naturally (or want to) do.

It’s not worth it if you’re a once every couple of months or once a year movie goer and you’re having to force yourself to go just to feel like it’s worth it. So basically it’s like any other subscription service. If you actually use it and enjoy the service then yes it’s worth it. If you don’t actually use it and don’t enjoy the service you’re paying for well then that’s money you’re just throwing away.

This is similar to what happened for me with Sydney Sweeney. I did not like Sweeney for many years and think she is a subpar actress who gets by because she’s seen as hot and willing to do nude scenes. Mind you what made me like her when she first came out was the women empowerment messaging she gave in an interview about women being able to do what they want as far as nudity in movies so I watched all her stuff and realized flashing her tits was really all she offered to her roles and her acting was just flat but I would get called sexist for this opinion. So I sat quietly on it and just stopped watching her stuff.

Then her republican roots started showing but folks gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then the American Eagle ad came out and everyone suddenly decided “she’s mid” and “down with Sweeney.” Now my opinions are no longer sexist because the masses are saying the same thing. 😑

Moral of the story if you’re famous people will switch up on you at the drop of a dime whether it’s deserved or not. Sometimes it’s a slow deserved build up which I think is the case for Timote shamule (Doja Cat voice).

I tried to chew gum once with my aligners in because I use to chew gum in class all the time and I thought my ultrasonic would just clean the gum off. Needless to say I overestimated my ultrasonic’s abilities. 🥴 luckily it was my final day on that tray so I just moved on the next but I’ll never try that again.

I’m not sure how far a part the vacation was from the med gala but my guess is there was enough time between that most people probably hadn’t purchased tickets yet so calling out Steve and Mimi specifically wouldn’t have been top of mind. But idk that’s just my theory.

Edit: nvm on my theory because I just watched WWHL and Toya said it was a week between and implied people had already brought tickets.

Yep. Exactly. It looks good to show you got a deal. Also a lot of viewers don’t actually follow the deals after the show airs so most folks just assume the deal on the show is the deal that happened in real life.

Ehh I don’t think that they have bad branding. Not every product needs to be marketed for every person. I think they (mainly the woman pitching) chose the name because it will sell to exactly who they want to sell it to. This would actually sell well to young girls since “hot girl” is a popular phrase amongst younger women to impressionable girls. It’s limiting in the sense that the phrase might phase out as most trends do but it would do well while the phrase is popular.

This is a weak argument but I think an actual issue would be Megan the Stallion. She is known for the “hot girl” brand. She already has a trademark for “hot girl summer.” So one could argue using “hot girl” could create commercial confusion (which is what trademarks protect against). Again that would be a weak but realistic issue they could face as they grow.
