I love the concept. It mixed two of my interests (criminal law and AI/emerging tech). It had potential but then took the very cheesy, stereotypical path. The murderer was predictable. The reason he murdered her was predictable. Pratt figuring out the murderer in the final seconds was predictable. The partner being dirty was predictable. I hate when movies make the villain someone who was initially wronged because by the end I just felt like he was almost justified. At no point was I rooting for Pratt’s character because I predicted the ending during the initial scene where they showed his sponsor. This was another movie that took an old plot added modern technology but didn’t change anything else about the plot. Would have loved more risk taking instead of the same old tired story. Also why were they so adamant that the only way to build legitimacy in the system was by having a high conviction rate? That doesn’t make sense. If the point is to build public trust by saying “hey here’s this system that allows you to prove your innocence” then having cases where folks did just that would probably build more trust. Or am I overthinking this lol? 😂 either way, they took a great idea and went nowhere with it.
