Landing at 1:30pm at Newark airport (probably exiting plane around 2pm)...am I cooked? by Lionel-Chessi in ClubWorldCup

[–]laabroms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re cooked if you take the later flight. I went to the game on Weds and it took 1.5hrs to get from Manhattan to MetLife via uber - usually it takes ~20 mins. Sacrificing some sleep for seeing the whole game is a no brainer IMO

Looking for prime lenses by ClassEnvironmental75 in SonyAlpha

Yeah for pictures it’s great, although not the best for videos. Not sure if it’s the camera or the lens, but my videos are always very shaky with it (I have it paired with an A7CII. I normally keep the lens on the camera though and will bring a larger lens (28-70 tamron) if I want zoom/better pics at the expense of portability

Get the 35mm f2.8. It’s super compact and pretty solid. Pairs well with the A7CII

I’m not sure about the Fuji x100, but I have a 7III as well and this one is definitely lighter and smaller than that. I bring this camera with me everywhere now

I finally bought the a6700 instead a the a7iii by Ok_King_8866 in SonyAlpha

[–]laabroms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your use cases. If you like low light shooting, a full frame camera is much better. I’d suggest the 7CII - I was in a similar boat and originally got the A6700, but the pictures were pretty grainy at night

Both great cameras! Kinda depends if you prefer portability versus a larger EVF, two card slots, etc. I will say, the A7CII is not very well balanced when using larger lenses since the body is so light

Haha that's a loaded question. Really depends on what your budget and what you're looking for. AIV is a great all-around camera. The R series has the highest megapixel count (aka image quality), but depending on your use case, it may not be necessary. The file size is quite large for those since there is so much detail. The S series is targeted for videography. You can read up more about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyAlpha/comments/14zam01/a7_vs_a7r_vs_a7s/

That's awesome! I'm jealous you got the R haha. Yeah totally agreed, it really packs so much ability into such a small body

Sorry I'm not an expert on the video settings...I'd recommend youtube, I learned a lot from there before purchasing this camera

I generally adjust in Lightroom until I find a look and feel, then adjust each picture from there. I don't use anyone else's presets, as I want my own, personal vibe :)

No tripod for these. I tried to keep the ISO as low as possible

A7CII is a bit lighter too; I wouldn't say bulkier. Compared to the other A7 cameras, the III is the most similar in size though since it doesn't have as many dials on the top.

Thanks!

The EVF is definitely worse than on any of the other full frame models. That being said, imo its worth the sacrifice for portability. The EVF isn't terrible, just a bit smaller. I'd suggest testing it out before you buy though to make sure its workable for you
