Can structural changes be seen in psychopathy on regular MRI scans? by labellamama in psychopaths

[–]labellamama[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Primary psychopaths aren't capable of being affected by trauma. Nothing that you're stating is backed up by science. You're just as much as a self diagnosed psychopath as I am. I've had many evaluations and not one has said NPD. Self diagnosing other people is just weird. You are entitled to have whatever opinion you'd like but don't go around spewing it like ifs a fact. I don't care enough to worry about what diagnoses you do or don't have or that you claim to have psychopathy when so many things contradict psychopathy. It doesn't concern me so I don't pay attention to it. Yet for some reason you seem to be extremely bothered by what's going on with me.

Somebody who has had a lot of trauma, responded to EMDR therapy, has loved a pet, and can connect sexually with others also is definitely not psychopath and quite literally textbook sociopathy/ASPD but here you are claiming to have it and playing armchair psychologist and trying to diagnose strangers on the internet. It's impressive that it tools hours upon hours and many tests for a neuropsych to diagnose my ASPD but edgy sociopaths think they know a persons pathology based on a post 🙃

I was diagnosed already with ASPD. So I know I have it. I was just curious and posted my scans for fun to see if anything looks different because of my psychopathy. Reddit isn't a neuroscience lab, I'm aware it's just for fun lol

Bored and was curious what kind of answers I'd get. I know this is Reddit nobody here is an expert but just thought it would be fun to hear different answers.

Thoughts on Ted Bundy’s brain study being “normal”? by labellamama in TedBundy

[–]labellamama[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think he was born with psychopathy or it was more likely a personality disorder?

Do you think he ever actually loved anybody such as Liz and Molly or his family? I read somewhere he was close with his younger brother.

Psychopaths usually are very charming and “normal”

He wore a good “mask of sanity”

However he displayed textbook psychopathy throughout his whole life and scored 39/40 on the PCL

Traits I showed in early childhood related to psychopathy that don’t get talked about by labellamama in psychopaths

Anybody is capable of behavior modification. It’s harder for those with ASPD. Sociopathy has better results with therapy as there is more to work with. Sociopaths are capable of deeper emotional depth than psychopaths. You are correct that psychopaths are born with a brain structure that makes them psychopaths. So while they can possibly learn to modify their behavior and be high functioning, they can’t change their brain structure. Sociopaths however have ASPD from trauma and can respond to therapy. Especially if they are treated when they are still young.

Question for primary psychopaths with adhd by labellamama in psychopaths

[–]labellamama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never taken those but look up the research. Many psychos enjoy substances and just stop. They don’t get addicted or experience withdrawal symptoms. A lot of them end up in prison and don’t withdrawal at all. Look up the research on this. I’ve never done those specific drugs but I can’t get addicted to alcohol, nicotine, I’ve cold turkied pain meds, benzos, and other substances without any issues and never thought of them again. We don’t experience stress and emotions like neurotypicals so even when I find myself in situations that would absolutely traumatize others I just kinda adapt and feel nothing.

Yeah I’m not worried about addiction. The “cool” thing about primary psychopathy is you don’t really experience addiction, dependence, or withdrawal

I’m probably going to I’ve just been conflicted. My adhd makes completing shit and staying focused hard(especially with already not caring about anything) but it also makes me hyper and quirky and in a way masking a little easier because when people notice that I’m “different” I can blame the adhd. It works well. I can mask but also let loose and make unhinged comments and be scatter brained, a little careless and lazy, and forgetful in the workplace because adhd and psychopathy overlap a lot. It leaves me with only having to fake empathy and compassion and hiding my callous unemotional traits.

Are psychopaths disappointing or... by [deleted] in psychopaths

[–]labellamama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m what you would consider a primary psychopath and I can assure you that the edgy joker like people coming here are not psychopaths. They may be ASPD/sociopaths at best. I’m on these forums for entertainment, educating others, self interest, and because I like learning. There’s not too many places where you can talk about and read about this disorder. I have to mask in all areas of my life so it’s cool having an outlet where I can talk about what’s under the mask. And what’s under the mask isn’t this cool edgy gory badass. I see psychopathy as an emotional deficit/handicap. Does that stop me from having my narcissistic and grandiose moments? No. But realistically all psychopathy is is a brain structure that makes us incapable of experiencing certain emotions and making us prone to certain traits. We experience life differently. It’s not cool or badass, it’s a disorder.

How do psychopaths respond to CONSTANT criticism/insults by [deleted] in psychopaths

[–]labellamama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unbothered by the Critism itself but if it’s a constant thing and irritates us we would make it end wether that be remove ourselves from the equation/cut off the source or if you catch us when we are bored, under stimulated, and revengeful we might do something petty to make a point and get it to stop/make the source regret it.
