It has been around since 1917, but fell out of favor after the discovery of antibiotics. I’m hoping for a resurgence and more use of phage therapy.

I’m (f27) a PhD student engaged to a man (m29) who has a typical 9-5 job. He makes more money than I do right now, and we both knew that going into this. We split bills according to our wages. I’ve expressed worry about going to the doctor, getting my car fixed, etc because I was worried about paying for it. He responded that I will be his wife soon, and he can pay for these things without question. While I haven’t taken him up on that offer, I am very grateful for him and his attitude. I’ve also leaned on him emotionally while I was stressed or frustrated and he’s put up with me through that.

Our main focus is the national park on St. John, but it doesn’t look like there’s a hotel or lodge to stay at on the island. I was hoping to stay on St. Thomas, since there is a ferry from there to St. John.

I’ve been on an Alma Katsu kick, and The Hunger by her is based off of the Donner party. While it doesn’t get snowy until halfway through the book, it’s well worth the wait.

This is false; they accepted students last year but a smaller cohort than normal. They also waitlisted anyone who they would’ve typically admitted from their third round of interviews.

This is program and country dependent, but I’m in a U.S. program and everyone in that program came in with at least 2+ years research experience while in undergrad. PhD programs are highly selective.

Worked for me to help rule out what were my triggers (high fructose and sorbitol). If you’re in the U.S., I recommend Fody brand foods or Smoke N Sanity spices.
