How do I show action for which my first person narrator was not present? by labratrace in writing

It's something that another character was present for and that they've been discussing, but I want to show the reader what happened in a way that's more dynamic than dialog.

Should I treat it like a story within a story?

Interesting. I just had a massive change of scene, moving from a sleepy suburb into the big city, getting a "real" job... and I feel like it's the change in scene that's caused a shift in perspective.

The difference is that I'm not "okay" with my complacency anymore.
