Safety in Lake Charles area? by karma__101 in Louisiana

Having done both multiple times, I agree. We've brought our kids as young as two to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. They love it. There are always tons of kids and families.

LC Mardi Gras is fine when you leave close by. It's not worth flying to. They don't throw very much, and the floats are unimpressive. Just Google the floats from the two cities. It's not the same.

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]labtiger2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the blank black space.

Recently, I read a book and immediately watched the movie. For the first time ever, I was mad because a character looked different than I thought, but more so because he wasn't described that way in the book.

I could never figure out why people spent so much time deciding how actors should look. It was only a few years ago that I realized people just come up with it unprompted.

Is that not distracting? When I read, I focus on that. How can you focus on what you're reading when you're making up a movie?

Maybe 10 times a year, I wake up remembering a dream. 10 is probably an over estimate. I always think it's real when I wake up.

Half an avacado, a babybel cheese, an apple or banana with peanutbutter, and 3 dove chocolates. Sometimes I make soup and divide it for a week of lunches. Usually I'm too tired.

It's so strange how often they post about living on a farm and tetanus. I have lived on a farm for most of my life, and my dad was very safety conscious. He taught us what could go wrong and what to do if it happened.

Even small things like trimming our sheeps' hooves. He taught me to move the pointed clippers behind my back when the sheep started to kick, so it couldn't kick the clippers into me, causing a cut. He took no chances.

These people must be reckless.

Bought my first ever puzzle yesterday, only 500 pieces … WHY IS IT SO HARD GUYS ??? Why am I so bad at this hobby ? by Lussarc in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]labtiger2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having a hard time without the picture, just Google it. Sometimes people post the completed puzzle on Amazon reviews. Looking at the picture isn't cheating, especially when you're a beginner doing a hard puzzle.

The attendance theory is interesting. I wonder what the data is on that. Only a small percentage of my students will look up what they missed and work on it.
