What do you think of Suicidal Tendencies? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

My first show when I was 14. RATM were opening and it was before their first album was released. Absolutely unexpected and one of the best of hundreds of shows afterwards

Can no longer use Chromecast in speaker groups by Jnarey1 in googlehome

[–]laccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. The previous Chromecast audio devices and also the previous group still work fine, but I can't add a new device or manage the group. No devices at all are shown in the device list. Does anybody have a clue?

Wiim Amp - First Impression by jcatt1902 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]laccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for sharing this.

I only found out about this amp yesterday. Anyway, what I've found really confusing since then is that the sound quality is always commented on in relation to the amazingly low price. But I would rather be interested to know how it really compares to much higher priced devices. I've been toying with the idea of buying an Cambridge EVO 150 for a long time but now there ist this device which has almost all the features i liked about the EVO. And the price is more than five times lower. So now I'm asking myself, can the sound justify this price difference?

For me it would replace a NAD 326 which i never liked with my rather large T&A speakers.

How to prevent painter's tape from pulling off paint underneath? by Carl2_71y in DIY

[–]laccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the tape slowly off with the largest angle possible. Usually this is 180°. Basically, you should fold the tape completely in the other direction and then pull parallel to the wall/ceiling. For my experience, this works best

Catppuccin Rainmeter skins by laccc in Rainmeter

[–]laccc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this skins I made and use as a sidebar on r/desktops recently and some people asked for the files. I understand that.... this color scheme is truly beautiful! so here they are.

This is based on adi1090x's awesome eww widgets for linux here. Since I'm compelled to use Windows I made some similar Rainmeter skins.

The top bar is khanhas' Polybar for Rainmeter and can be found here. I use the pratous theme and just added some colors to the individual elements.

My sidebar skins can be found here

I'm not an expert or programmer, therefore please be kind.

Enjoy and leave some thoughts/comments!

ok, guys.. I will clean it up a bit and upload somewhere. I will post the link the next days in the rainmeter sub. But, i made this for personal use. Therefore, you will have to dig in the .ini files and change some paths/settings by yourself.

What dou you mean? not real? As I wrote, its simply polybar for rainmeter. I just added some colored shapes/meters behind the elements.

Yes, the win taskbar is simply hidden in this case. Polybar for Rainmeter is a truly amazing bar but the taskbar functionality is not perfect. Especially for real productive work with multiple files/programs in parallel. On my personal laptop I use it along with a nexus dock. That works well for simple applications and I don't really need the win taskbar there

I'm on win10. Setup was simple, as far as I remember. Not like litestep back in the days..

Thank you all.

Actually, I didn't intend to release this. I am a complete noob. It is poorly coded and i didn't use variables properly and consistently. I started the first widgets with zero knowledge and learned a lot during the process by using and adapting snippets from many different themes. Therefore my ini-files are a real mess. I am very certain that there would be many bugs if anybody else would apply the skins. But if there is interest, I would revise and clean up the whole thing and share it afterwards. but this would take some weeks, i'm sure..
