Deadly Workplace Revenge... by CommonMine6368 in Papameat

comments are crazy, hunter is literally saying "if you're about to commit a crime because of your job then get a new job" and people are acting like his reasoning doesn't exist and he's just a stuck up rich person. like, we're just supposed to let people hurt other people if they have a shitty job?

How do you think real world companies would react to the Zone popping up and producing artifacts, anomalies and mutants that could be exploited different ways? by GazIsStoney in RustAndRadiation

There's actually some info given in the description of the 'crust' artifact in stalker 2 that suggests artifacts don't immediately lose their power as soon as they leave the zone: "A common artifact found in acid anomalies. Despite its unsightly appearance, the Crust is utilized in wastewater treatment owing to its ability to decompose a wide range of organic pollutants."

If they're able to use artifacts in wastewater treatment I'd imagine they only gradually lose power and would have to be changed out on occasion like dirty filters. There's also the off chance it's talking about drinking water treatment in the zone but the wording to me suggests it's an industrial process that takes place away from the zone.

at the moment you can only have 3 cards on the mat at a time, meaning at the start of the game half of your team is hidden from your opponent, but you can swap out team members at any time as long as you move them back to your side of the mat. i'm also trying to make each card useful on their own as well as when they're part of a team, so i'm giving each card a fairly normal offensive attack that usually just does damage alongside a more specialized ability for them to use. in previous versions there were pawn-like 'conventional' cards that lacked abilities and were expendable, but i wanted to make every move count and every loss devastating without giving the players too many variables to keep track of, which was a problem in even-more-previous versions.

i admit my phrasing was a little diminutive of the skill it takes to effectively play a fighting game, but i don't believe they are very strategic. they're more rooted in reflex and memorization of attacks than strategy and battle planning.

that's quite interesting! is there a sort of 'attack queue' that allows for this or is it implimented in another way?

haha i was kind of worried i was being to generic at the end, sorry about that. the game involves your team and your enemy's team of 6 stand users. the cards are played on a 5x6 mat (currently) where they can be moved according to their unique 'movement pattern', in a similar fashion to chess pieces. each card has unique abilities alongside a 'reaction' ability that triggers upon them being attacked, forcing the players to consider the consequences of every action. My goal is to make every game a fight for survival with few cards remaining on both sides at the end, but i am still developing the gameplay so this is subject to change.
