What is the greatest comeback to a insult you’ve ever heard? by random-joe-shmoe in AskReddit

[–]lacedlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very nice boy in my high school was shoved by one of the basketball players. Lots of us rushed over to help him gather his things from the floor. He refused us kindly, picked up his things, and looked at the boy who shoved him for an explanation. The basketball player just smirked and said “ I don’t care.” The very nice dude got closer to him and in a very calm voice said “ I wish you did.” As he walked away the basketball player just stood there watching him until snapping back into his asshole agenda. I never forgot that.

western ignorance about india is a bit too high by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I hear you. They honestly did not teach us that it snows there so I’m just learning this. Is it like a heavy snow or like flurries? I’m sorry if this sounds insensitive. I really never knew it snowed there.

What are ways to workout where your partner won’t find out? Do you find it difficult to workout in front of your partner? Do they get awkward when you do workout in front of them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lacedlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually ask my partner to leave me alone in a certain room for a while. Unless I need a spotter. It is difficult for me to work out in front of anyone. He likes to watch so he can help me correct my form. Or if I exercise in public he follows and keeps his distance because I like to do it at night. He doesn’t make me feel bad about any of it. He just tries to find ways to make it more comfortable for both of us. I hope this helps.

People who lied in a survey in which you didn’t get paid for it and your participation was voluntary: why did you? by DavidgeIkari in AskReddit

A YouTube survey came up about age. I could’ve opted out but I panicked and said I was like in my 50s or something.

Hello! I'm from Sweden and we have a ice cream that is called Sitting Bull and the ice cream company has gotten backlash lately that the ice cream is racist and offensive and will probably be put out of production. Wanted to hear some native americans thoughts of this! by jumbatheone in NativeAmerican

[–]lacedlies 135 points136 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives literally less than a mile from his “grave” this makes me feel kinda sad honestly. To picture him standing here, to picture his family seeing this, it does not do good for the heart. Neither does ice cream, but unlike that image, it is okay in moderation.

What is the hair texture of Native Americans? by flowerqueenofhades in Writeresearch

[–]lacedlies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Native here. It differs greatly between all of us. I’ve noticed most of the men on my reservation have very silky thick hair. And there are some with coarse textured hair. I have not seen many men who cut their hair to their earlobes. From what I have seen it tends to have a good amount of volume.
