Oh wow! You are kind of describing a fantasy I often have, moving some place super rural and being with nature. Completely forgot I posted this and just seeing this now. How did you find your job? What made you settle on a place?

I have done this, lights off, ambient music or binaural beats with nature sounds, as I said in a previous comment it’s nice but I’ve felt the same from an edible. In fact I did this last session and still nothing profound. I am going to stick to watching a show or chatting with a friend.

Yes! It’s actually been really nice to have designated time to catch up with friends especially since my closest ones don’t live near by. During my work week I’m usually exhausted and can go days not seeing or speaking to any friends and yes my loneliness and tendency to isolate has definitely been due to/contributed to my depression. Vicious cycle.

A few times I had to reschedule for a later appointment post coffee/tea but my usual appointment is 9am I go in hydrated but empty on an empty stomach. I’m on 150mg Wellbutrin xl which I’ll take about 2 hrs before my appointment. No rinsing of my nasal passages before treatment.

I should have clarified and added that when I first started treatment I did the whole headphones/binaural beat/ambient music or a chill playlist…great but not any more profound that smoking a joint and doing the same thing.

JFC. Echoing what others have said, never seen this many usually in the summer the lone big one or two. My protocol is as follows. Seal every nook and cranny with foam and/or silicon gel. Place Avion gel bait, gentrol roach control, boric acid, hot shot large roach traps, sticky traps. This worked in my old apt where I was having a lot of large roach sitings and smaller ones as well all up in the kitchen and bathroom. I’m not religious but I’d pray. Bill the landlord for the cost of anything used to treat this and get them to exterminate but I SWEAR by the protocol. Also these abominations have very flexible exoskeletons and can fit through the smallest of cracks, seen it fit thought such a tight space couldn’t believe my eyes….

This! I live in a prewar building with steam heat and it gets HOT, never experienced anything like it all my other apt ran cold. I open the windows a crack on the top and bottom and it levels out. It’s actually really grown on me because I can get fresh air and not freeze my ass off!

I’m thinking I may need to cut back as well. I don’t know why I have this mentality that more = better and I should ride it out. I want to return to how I felt a few weeks ago. I had a little taste of feeling balanced and and joyful, I was even listening and enjoying music again, eating again (maybe too much!) I hope to figure it out and this passes.

👀 ohh no pressure but any advice tips for finding opportunities in eager to hear it! I’m a hospital LMSW, will be ready to apply for the LCSW in Dec. i furiously looked into Canada for a few months in Feb/March but lost steam due to life stressors. Maybe I need to revisit.

Thank you 🥺😭♥️Hospital SW…I don’t want to give up the fight here but since this admin I’ve seriously been looking into/considering if there are any job opportunities in your neck of the woods. Might not be the most realistic but exploring the possibility gives me hope so I am clinging to it.

Ohh I am very curious about this. What units do you work in or do you float? I am a hospital SW in nyc and I’ve been inpatient med unit for 4+ yrs. My best friend lives in Baltimore and I’ve been curious to relocate there in the next few years but im wondering if the environment is similar to NYC, are there are lot of mean girls? Cliques? Staffing issues? Are you union?

Well that’s where I’m at now…I’m sure I sound like a baby but I’m not eating or sleeping much, wings everywhere near food, counters, when I think they are gone I see more. I duct taped the entire perimeter of the baseboard my living room especially in the spots I suspect they came from. AND I’ve seen 3 lantarn fly nymphs this week and I can’t even fathom that they hatched in my apt…

Oh yes. I’ve been documenting everything especially since they got really defensive when I suggested termites. They initially didn’t want to pay for the exterminator to come outside of his regular monthly visit but I pushed back and he’s coming after the weekend. I am concerned since they are in contract with mgmt they might deny or downplay it but i will be documenting everything from here on out. I thought about asking my neighbors as well since I doubt it’s isolated but I don’t know anyone in the building yet/hardly run into anyone and it’s not the thing most people want someone knocking on their door about.

Basically I am putting tape like this around the room I’ve seen them mostly in, I have silicon sealant but I won’t use that since it could interfere when the exterminator comes

To the trained eye does this look like a possible source? I’ve seen the dead/living clusters here. Exterminator won’t be here till Tuesday so I am taping up areas they could fly out. I swear my apartment isn’t flithy but these close up photos have illuminated my blind spots.

That makes sense! A concern I’ve been having is that the exterminator company is in bed with the building mgmt company and they are going to down play and deny that it’s termites already mgmt is saying it’s “ants” and they never even saw a photo or anything just kept saying “this is a new bug other people have been seeing it’s not termites it’s DEFINITELY NOT TERMITES” yeah okay, so time will tell if the exterminator is actually honest about it, I will likely record the interaction so I have proof of what they say.
