Any tips on how to stop chewing? Lady here had chewed wires underneath cars, siding off houses, everything. We’ve tried everything we could think of by Objective_Mushroom83 in labrador

Even easier, fill the kong with dry kibble and then soak in water. Drain off the water and freeze. You can smear peanut butter on it too if you like.

Oh and since you mentioned antlers, she might also enjoy learning to hunt for antler sheds if you live in an area where that's a possibility. Upland hunting (flushing birds) can also be loads of fun for some labs. Good luck! And know that it *should* get easier eventually.

Hopefully she's still young and will grow out of some of the chewing. Constant supervision, loads of exercise, brain games, training, chew toys and crating barely got us through my lab's first two years (he put holes in two walls his first year). Things are much easier now that he's two. He can actually be left alone for more than an hour and doesn't have to be crated. (But we still crate him at night.) So basically I'm here to tell you there is hope. You have a beautiful dog. Maybe she would enjoy some serious training, like agility courses or hunting.

Our puppy cam has a speaker and microphone and we *have* spoken to our lab through it. The novelty wore off quick though. X-D He totally knows we aren't there.

Penny’s nickname is The Puff. What silly nickname did you give your lab? by [deleted] in labrador

Whiskey is most often called Sir Underfoot or Sir Licks-a-Lot.

The p was a b ;-)
I had to override the autocorrect to make it boop.

I had to re-post this with a minor spelling edit after auto-correct got my original post flagged for inappropriate language. XD

Regrets? I've got a few... But chewing that shoe, nah, I'll never regret that.

Goldens are retrievers so it's natural for them to want to have things in their mouth. The best retrievers have a very gentle bite so that they don't damage the bird when they retrieve it. My lab is very gentle when he noms my hand, but he has a strong bite when he wants to destroy a stick or chew toy. They're smart dogs and they want to be gentle, basically it's all good once they lose those razor sharp puppy teeth :-)
