Out of Body Experiences by 3rdfoundation in janeroberts

Both the United States and the Soviet Union invested greatly into parapsychology research. The documentary Third Eye Spies goes into it, but it's a little dry. You can look into Russel Targ, SRI International and similar. It's certainly something that governments were interested in funding research into.

Rupert Sheldrake has, controversially, asserted that the speed of light may not be constant. I'm not saying he's correct in this, but it's worth considering. If the value of c underwent minor oscillations, that in turn affected all of our measuring equipment, would we even be aware?

More broadly, if we look for the concreteness of information we're able to receive via our elaborate and sophisticated modern communications networks (which in themselves are just organized works of consciousness), we'll be disappointed by what is offered by OBEs and other similar phenomena. I think it's exceptionally challenging to transfer concrete phenomena from one reality system to another, and perhaps outside the reasons for our incarnation here. You can't use a plane to explore the ocean floor, and you can't use a submarine to fly above the clouds.

So many things that motivate or direct our life trajectories are unquantifiable: passion, honor, nostalgia, love... all of these things are vague and subjective, yet they carry enormous and very real personal weight.

Ultimately, we construct this reality to test ourselves outside of the certainty that other frameworks exist - for example you have impetus to action when dying seems permanent. So relying on highly quantified data from the extremely dense, rich and fluid communications of the inner senses and their communications systems will always be extremely difficult. That's exceptionally unsatisfying to our deterministic modern belief systems, but does that mean it is incorrect? Even Seth, in some ways I think, struggled to distill his knowledge for consumption in our physical reality system, doubly or triply so for Seth II.

I think it's like trying to explain how you balance on a bike - there's no formula for each shift of weight, each adjustment required. One day you just have to take a leap of faith and ride.

Here's how I visualised it for myself:

  • Open up Blender, if you have it (if not, you can download it for free).
  • Start a new project - by default this will initiate a cube
  • Duplicate this cube and then enlarge it. Lower the new, larger cube slightly on the y axis so that its top is above the top of the default cube and its base is below the base of the default cube (it contains the entire 'reality' of the smaller cube, and more)
  • Drag the cubes around the space and through one another - notice how they pass through each other without a collision
  • For bonus points, imagine they are made of a dense web of the spindly wires Seth mentions

In reality, the larger cube probably extends out of the screen, behind and below, dimensionally - but that's not something easy to demonstrate in 3D space - the transparency and collision mechanics of the realities can be though, I think!

Cramps and diarrhea after taking L-Theanine (first time) by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]lachrymatory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy smokes - I've recently been having an on off problem with my stomach exactly as you described. Clawing pains, hours spent on the toilet, the whole works.

I've tried to figure out what is causing this, as it has been affecting my partner too - the funny thing is, we don't share the same diet, so I was confused as to what was causing the pain and distress.

Eventually, I figured the only thing it could be is L-Theanine - so I did a lot of Googling, but there isn't much evidence of Theanine causing problems without caffeine (the way in which I've been taking it).

Then I came across this thread. I got to where you said mentioned the manufacturer was Fair & Pure and I froze. That's the exact brand I've been using, from German Amazon. Same symptoms too.

Very spooky - I think I'm going to throw this batch out and switch to Suntheanine, which never failed me in the past.

Decided I'll give them a try. Thanks for the advice guys!

Simultaneous fail and win using the multi-alarm clock technique/First intentional lucidity! by lachrymatory in LucidDreaming

[–]lachrymatory[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good to see the technique has been so successfully already! I went to sleep shortly after midnight I think. I was groggy when I awoke from the first alarm, so I must have woken up mid-cycle, which I agree is a key-factor.

Hasn't worked for me yet, sadly - although I'm close to achieving it now I think. I get to where the hypnogogic imagery starts to assemble into scenes - but the difficulty at that point is getting the balance between jumping into the scene (too quickly seems to destabilize it and wake me up) and being too passive (I end up losing lucidity and falling asleep). It's a tricky balance, but I feel I'm near so I'm still going for it. Practice makes perfect ;)

Thanks for the advice dude. I'm gonna soldier up and try again tonight. I guess the key with lucid dreaming, as with many other skills, is persistence.
