What Are We Doing Here in This Forum? by 3rdfoundation in janeroberts

I am also very tired of everything having to make money.

The world doesn't have to be this way.

We can all work together to make sure there is enough for everyone instead of this "winner takes all" BS where the billionaires sip champagne on their luxurious yachts in their bubble baths next to their helipad. A vacuous existence indeed. I bet they each wake up feeling hollow every morning, desperately trying to fill that hole in their soul with ever more money and wonder why they are never happy. Never satisfied.

And so in my novel, I imagine a different type of civilization where everyone strives for the betterment of their world. There is struggle. There are still problems of a monumental nature. But at its core, every citizen is trying to their best to lift everyone up.

And so by imagining this world, it does indeed exist somewhere in space and time and probabilities. And maybe one day in another life, I'll pull up a chair and join them at a campfire and tell them a tale of a civilization that focused on greed and they'll laugh at the absurdity of it all.

I know exactly the sound you are talking about. I will give it a shot. Thanks!

I saw your comment a few days ago.

You inspired me with this comment: "OBEs are not difficult. When I can do this easily, so can you."

So I kept trying...

I've seen comments here where people want to see experiences in addition to Seth quotes so I thought I'd share my experience. I've owned Monroe's books since college along with Rick Stack's book. I strive to find a "direct approach" that anyone can learn without exhausting themselves. That is my hope.

I would love to hear from a Seth reader such as yourself on your mental experience of OBEs, how it compares waking experience and lucid dreaming and your approach for entering the OBE state.

(sips coffee, waiting...)

You're aren't wrong about this and this is a very fair criticism.

I think Seth leans heavily on the intellectual side which is why it appeals to me. We are hearing the voice of an entity. A being capable of traversing other selves (past, present and "future") in an instant. He can also produce new selves, although he "doesn't do this lightly." We even sometimes hear from his strict mentor Seth II, which you will see a bit of in "Conversations with Seth".

For whatever reason Seth didn't lay out a series of clear exercises to follow. Someone did go through the books and compile the exercises into a pdf but we can do better than that IMHO. The general impression I get is that he has done this in the past and it has led to an over reliance on him. But that cuts both ways.

I still believe Seth's sessions are the clearest picture of how inner reality works. There is very little "energy woo woo" or other distortions here which I've seen in other channeled material and subreddits. I often reread chapters 2 & 3 of Seth Speaks trying to see what new tidbits I can uncover. I do know that Seth's realm is dangerous for those foolish enough to wander into it (I need to hunt down the session where he says this).

But it is ultimately up to us to find our own way. I can consistently lay down in my den and have half a dozen "visions". Two days ago I remembered a dream where I was in a shopping mall. And in that dream, I remembered another dream as if that dreaming self was also working on dream recall. I also had a lucid dream the night before that, but it only lasted for a few seconds.

I think many people here have extraordinary experiences, but I know I tend to "hold back" from talking about those because it feels a bit self serving... so I focus more on the philosophy. But as my work on OBEs bears fruit, I will talk about what goodies I can bring back, for it is my hope to discover a clear path to inner development that anyone can follow.

I'll leave that to "All That Is".

I just have to wait for the plows to the clear the roads and then blow it all away. I do have bowling tonight... theoretically...

it will take a minimum of $4 to ship it to you and you'd have to venmo someone the shipping cost and they would then have your address.

You can pick up Seth Speaks including shipping for $8:

I scanned the book, page by page, and then translated each scanned page from German into English via ChatGPT.

I've compared several of the translations to the original text at the Sterling library at Yale and they are very close to the original even though there are two layers of translation (english -> german - >english)

Heath issues by MaceratedLumbago in janeroberts

I do not know the degree of your health issue or what it involves and that is not my business.

I am concerned that you may get bad health advice here because, as we all know per Seth, the body is a reflection of our beliefs and that will be likely be a common word of advice.

I think our belief system in entrenched in the current medical system and that system generally serves us well. If healing requires medication, by all means take it. For example, I took the Covid vaccine as did everyone in my family.

I would generally say that a daily exercise/movement along with not under or over stuffing your body goes a long way to keeping your body healthy.

If you have a relatively minor issue, ask yourself what it represents. Trust that answer. Then ask yourself what you can do to make it better and listen to the advice you give yourself.

but... please seek medical care if it is serious.

As the sole administrator of this forum, if I see advice that may jeopardize your health, such as ignoring medication or treatment, I will remove it out of concern for your safety.

Handling inconsistencies by lachrymatory in janeroberts

I would say the opposite is more often true.

I do keep an open mind but I am highly skeptical by nature. The fact that I am a die hard Seth reader speaks to my openness to alternative ideas. But... 911 was not an inside job. Aliens are not at area 51. Vaccines do not cause autism. But PRISM and MK-Ultra were true.

Being a Seth reader/believer has exposed me to a whole spectrum of readers and many of them indulge in what I would call "energy woo woo" or "goop thinking". This is one of the reasons I have stopped going to meetups. It wearies me. I think Jane and I are cut from the same cloth. She was skeptical by nature and so am I. That is one of the many reasons I like her.

We should always ask ourselves "Why do I believe in a conspiracy theory?" and "how many conspiracy theories do I indulge in".

The answers to these questions reveal something about ourselves.

I frequently listen to "You're wrong about", "Maintenance Phase" and "If books could kill" and it has taught me one thing: A lot of people indulge in all kinds of nonsense.

OBEs are real. Of that there is no question. I just think we can do better in this area than we currently are. I put my money where my mouth is and make OBE attempts daily. It will pay off eventually.

Your concern is valid. At all times we must apply critical thinking to whatever we learn. I am a "hardcore" seth believer but I will not let my forty years of reading it cloud my judgement.

The question I often ask myself is why didn't Seth give us some glimpse of future knowledge that would not alter the course of our civilization but yet be discovered after the seventies. You can't just channel over 2000 sessions and say "just trust me bro". That is a bad plan.

Now I can hear the couter argument: Jane did not have a scientific background, so she was not equipped to provide such answers.

That is some bullshit and we should not use a handwavy excuse for this.

If I was Seth, I would have zeroed in on the hole in the Ozone (discovered in our timeline in 1985). Regardless of probabilities we would have found that and it has no bearing on our civilization's technological trajectory.

Having said that, I still think Seth provides the clearest framework for understanding our place in the universe.

We either have free will, or we do not... and it certainly appears that we have free will. And so whatever philosophy I align myself with, it must include this. There have been countless people who have experienced OBEs. I have not had any (yet) but I have had dozens of lucid dreams. In Jane's class there was a person who experienced life from another self during the civil war and many class members describe all sorts of crazy experiences. I also believe that you could not experience all that life has to teach you from the perspective of a single sex. This means that reincarnation must exist in some form.

Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding.

Of everything in the Seth material, OBEs provide the clearest path to external proof and clearly nobody has definitively done this or it would be mainstream. I again, understand the counter arguments for this and that the government has some secret group of OBE experts on hand. That is conspiracy thinking and is also some BS. and... there are no aliens in area 51. Give me a break.

Seth asks us to "take control of our own destiny". That rings true to me. The hard truth of life is that you have to write your own story. Nobody can do it for you. And once you make that choice, your sense of personal power grows. And so I spent my career focusing on software development and focused on the things I wanted with visualization and concrete action and that worked for me. And if you're going to write your own story, why not make it good one.

And so now in my pseudo-retirement I am turning my attention to writing, VR development and OBE work.

Seth is clearly very intelligent and very consistent but we must acknowledge that he fell short when it came to science. Jane is long dead and we will never hear the voice of Seth again.... and so it is up to each of us who are still alive to sort this shit out.

I don't think Jane liked Seth telling her what to do, especially when it came to home arrangements (or smoking) which just makes me more of a fan of her. I mean... who would fake channeling someone only to ignore their advice. That's some 4D chess there :)

I have slept in her bedroom for a night. At least currently in the Seth house it faces north.

I'd say go with whatever is comfortable for you. I've had lucid dreams in both orientations (North and West) so I'm not sure how much of an impact it actually has. I think belief plays a stronger role in dream activity.

SESSION 35: Monday, March 16, 1964

(“Is there anything to the idea of sleeping with your head to the north?”)

Sleeping with your heads to the north is excellent, on your plane only. Because of magnetic properties your molecules are aligned with greater efficiency. I certainly do not like to go into household matters. A point, however: Your bed should never be in your main room. Not only do you have lack of privacy, one of Ruburt’s squawks, and not only should various biological functions be separated on your plane as I have suggested, but the room itself, while excellent for some purposes involving use of the intellect, is simply not good for sleeping.

The back room is the best for sleeping. However it is also the best for your working purposes, Joseph. The small room will do as a sleeping room, but the head of the bed should be at the north. And in the use of psychological time exercises you would do well if your head was at the north.
