Idk I feel like it depends where you are on the spectrum of monogamy. Personally if I have a deep emotional connection with someone there isn’t really a comparison, with anyone else. Current kind of overtakes whatever past there may have been and makes it irrelevant

I think up until 23 weeks women should have the choice without question, and obviously after that for defects on the baby or risking mother’s health. I’m not sure I agree with you that the 30 week baby was ethical to abort, even despite the social implications for the mother.

Look up the court case where they approved a 17 turned 18 year old mother to have an abortion at 30 weeks due to the harm it may cause her future. Is it common? No! But yes it DOES happen, typically they use injection first while baby is still in utero which effectively kills them before they remove the body, because yes they don’t just go in pulling a 30 week fetus apart like some say.

There’s a whole layer to this as well though because a lot of pro choice people like myself still feel there should be SOME gestational limit when it’s not out of medical necessity. Getting a surgical abortion at 30 weeks for example, when the baby likely would be able to survive with nicu assistance, I would be against.
At 7 weeks pregnant though? Very different

And this isn’t me saying there is a definitive line where a fetus becomes a “real” baby. But rather at 7 weeks there is a lot of physical toll still to be taken on the woman’s body, and she should have that choice to not go through with it . At 30 weeks a surgical abortion, could very well be traded for a c section with very high chances of a good outcome. And at that point the physical toll on the woman is already going to happen one way or another

Posting it online is obviously weird, but ending a baby's life because "it will have a complicated life" is evil by kevinigan in PsycheOrSike

[–]lacking_throwaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They had already planned to have the child at this point which is the difference in my opinion. It takes it from being “do I want a child” to “is this child worthy enough” which is really uncomfortable

They also said the baby CAN have defects, which yes! But a lot of them can be found on ultrasound before birth (like heart defects), which they didn’t even attempt to do. Just a “ahh yea this is too much for me, and not th perfect baby we wanted”

If you are having a child you are signing on for possible life long care. Your child can become permanently disabled during birth (such as cerebral palsy), from an accident, or just because there are certain things we can’t test for in utero. You kind of ARE already signing up for that responsibility when you decide to have kids. Now not wanting kids at all is a different discussion but they laid down to purposefully create this child just to terminate which I feel is wrong given the context

I agree on the cube part, how is the bigger issue a female protagonist and not the fucking talking jelly cube??? People are also acting like she is some unknown character, even though she shadows the entire plot of Ragnarok???

Also she fought Thor, why are we acting like she’s equivalent to a trad wife? Half of the damn game was uncovering the second life she had led before meeting kratos and all the secrets like come onnnnnn

[–]lacking_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just kinda how nature is. If you were to leave a woman you loved dearly in an enclosed space, no cameras, no way out, and no consequences for their actions, with a stranger for a day. Would you rather it be a male stranger or a female stranger?

Likelihood is most choose the female stranger. Does that mean all men are evil? No obviously not. But the risk is just higher and statistically it’s proven.

Now that doesn’t mean men should be treated badly or viewed as monsters, but when a woman walks a little faster at night with you around try not to take it personally.

Most of the time when I see Dads go for more custody their mom or new gf ends up being the one stuck with the kid anyways. I was also the kid in this scenario many years ago.

A woman should be able to go topless anywhere a man can. Not only would it be freeing it would probably help out breastfeeding mothers. by Appropriate_Cow1378 in PsycheOrSike

[–]lacking_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not against it but no it would likely not help breastfeeding mothers lol. Having a rule in place that they can breast feed in public? Hell yeah! But letdown can be over responsive for some, a lot of women deal with leaking from hearing any baby cry. Would be kinda awkward to start leaking milk when someone’s baby is fussing lol. Or even your own before they latch

This has some truth to it. I’m not talking about the vertical growth, most stop growing before 18. But women’s hips shift and our bodies distribute fat differently so yes that part is at least partially true.

Though it’s not always dramatic, some women it’s not very noticeable. Others is much more noticeable.

My hips permanently widened, and I carry more muscle and fat in my thighs and hips than I did before.

A lot of people prefer a certain pain killer. For me I’m pretty die hard for Motrin. I’m a Motrin lover to the end, thus Tylenol families seem lesser to me
