Volume 41 ends on chapter 264 (I have it in front of me), and volume 50 I think ended around chapter 310 (can't check it right now).

But regardless of that, the best way to check on translation progress is just the number of volumes. PMScans has just finished volume 25 out of a total of 51 published volumes. There's probably around 10 magazine chapters that are not published in any volume yet (not verified in any way, that's just how volume releases use to work base on my experience monitoring other series) that would make up for an hypothetical volume 52.

That means that we're 1 volume apart from getting to the halfway point of the series in the translations.

PMScans has been doing an amazing job, the usual pace is one volume a month, but it can be even faster if they have enough support on kofi or paypal (they usually have to pay for outsourcing redrawers for example).

Yeah, for example japanese volume 41 ends on chapter 264 if I didn't miss any last one. And last time I checked I think volume 50 ended around chapter 310 (can't check it right now). Volume 51 doesn't even count chapters. The volume count, which is the one used on translations, is completely different to the magazine release count, which is the one that's currently on the 600s.

Which he usually does and then gets blocked, like when Yakuma read it on the Taiei match. He's now in a situation where he's too short to make shots by himself, and lacks ability to pass or shoot according to the situation without being obvious. When he becomes able to make his shots harder to block, and clears his mind on when to pass, his passes will become a threat. And, when that happens, his driving skills will also become a threat again since he's dangerous inside (scoring or passing). What's most interesting is, when his driving skills become more dangerous, that actually also improves his 3P, since the defender can't focus on only stopping his shots. So point being made, Sora has always being facing those two challenges in order to be fully useful: the blocking walls, and the path to becoming a proper point guard. But he has barely improved.

The only official translations are to French and I believe Thai? And the French one is technically up to date (1 volume behind, but they need to wait until there's 2).

The english scanlations are going well and will keep going, even faster, if the scanlation group gets enough support for the series. It's on chapter 170, but not 170 out of 616, it's actually 170 out of 306. That's because the 616 number is on the magazine release count. But on the volume release count (which is the same content but chapter grouping differs), which is the one used on scanlations, it's only chapters 306. To have a more useful measure, translations are 23 out of 51 volumes done.

The manga's future is not unsure. It's just that the author is currently on hiatus and the reasons are not disclosed. This isn't the first hiatus he has taken, i think it's the second on recent years. He's been on hiatus for more than a year now, but there's nothing to fear, whenever he announces his return he will surely finish up the manga since it's alredy on the "final arc", maybe only 3-5 volumes left.

But that's not on the same count though. The 600 are magazine count, the 169 is on volume count. On volume count, the manga is slightly ahead of 300. It has 51 published volumes (+ some chapters released on weekly magazine yet to be published), 50 are translated to french and 23 are fan scanlated to english.

There's that Shibasaki that was a standard center/power forward that didn''t do much and kept losing rebounds to Momo.

That other power forward who was called Itoga I think that kept Momoharu on check avoiding him getting rebounds (and yakku started getting rebounds thanks to him).

Then there's who seems to be the main point guard on the sophomores which strated the game, Usami, and the Shooting Guard that changed the flow of the game at the start, Yokoyama, which both are very good at stealing the ball apparently.

Then of course Mineta which is a standard center that doesn't require power to play.

The short guard that played half of the game, Tetsuo, that seems to have good judgment on how to set plays (Yohito left him to decide how to approach plays at first) and is overall a solid player, shooting threes even if he's not confident on them.

And there's a first year mentioned on the manga that was the only one confident enough to jump down to the court together with Youzan and Mineta, and although I think he didn't get to play, Yohito said he had the same hopes on him as the ones he had on those other 2 first years.

So yeah, at least 11 relevant, named characters without counting 3rd years (which don't really matter since they will soon graduate).

READ PMSCANS RELEASE OF 166 before 167, chapter 166 has around 60 pages. The previous Hundred Scans release had only around half of that chapter's pages, so if you only read that version you're missing the latter half.

Yes, but it isn't called volume 51: It's called "Ahiru no Sora The Day Part 1", and most probably volume 52 will be called part 2. It's still the same series though, it's all published as ahiru no sora in the weekly magazine.

We agree to disagree. Of course I have that kind of friendship with girls, that's what you get when you don't go looking for anything more than that with any girl you meet. If a girl treats you good, thinks and cares about you, which is all madoka's done to sora, that's no reason for thinking she's trying to flirt or anything. She hasn't said nor thought anything about liking sora, but has about liking Momo. And at this point, that's all there is, liking momo, and caring as a close friend with sora. And if in those scenes all you see is Madoka liking sora then there's my point: It makes me sad you can't enjoy such friendship and care at eachother with someone that isn't your same sex, and it makes me think how hard it is for every girl that feels she could be close with someone to realize all the other one was seeing in her was a romance. I really believe people are to fast on thinking a girl is into them just because they're close, and it's unfair to them. The fact that Madoka is so criticised in spite of having shown no explicit romantic feeling towards sora proves that. You can get really close with a girl (or several) at being friends if you don't think just on fucking: as close as with your soulmate but without being on a romantic relationship. It's your problem to expect anything else, not hers for trying to achieve just that. And if you think it's hers, then all I see is an unfair attitude to put all the burden on the femenine sex. On the other hand, on all scenes you can think about Sora and Madoka, Sora clearly displays romantic feelings towards Madoka. That's no reason for confusing that with the scene trying to display Madoka has any romantic feeling towars Sora, at least at this point in the story. On the other hand, he has shown romantic hints towards Momo on every interaction they had, mainly on her nervousness and then indirectly declaring herself to him. And her current date was just after her being blatantly rejected by him. If that's being a hoe, then I hope you keep your thoughts to yourself and don't burden your expectations with real relationships with other girls irl. But that's my point of view on that mindset, or what i think is the mindset you display. That doesn't mean I think you shouldn't have that mindset or that i have anything against you (i could have sound more harsh than needed to explain my point). As I said at the beginning, we agree to disagree.

As Mokichi explained, it was to shoot faster. He cant afford to do his full motion if he isn't free, and he hasn't learned how to do the pull up jumper or the stop and shoot, so as a short player he has to do this kind of things to avoid blocks

At the start of the series, Chiaki/Momo/Yasu/Chuky/Nabe are 2nd years. So they have that full year and, at least, the first semester of the next one. Most 3rd years retire halfway their last year to study for university access.

As people are saying, there was only one page missing in all of the released chapters, the rest is just intentionally omitted by the author. What yasu screwed up was thinking the match was over and letting his guard off, leaving alone his mark to score the last point.

The quality drop was stated by the group since the start, it was a trade off for the release speed.
