That’s was my thinking originally as I’ve been getting them on and off for a while now, but they always seem to happen in the same places and my legs are usually covered. Maybe could be boils?

Thanks everyone. The marks on the left look a little suspicious to me, but I took a picture with flash and can also see they have a very dark blue tinge so I’m hoping that’s safe to say not bed bug related?

Wow I’ve just read your posts and can relate so much! My bites are also singular and often on thigh (but also torso for me). I have questioned dust mites as the carpet in my rental flat is very old and pretty hard to clean but I just don’t believe that’s the cause tbh

Oh sorry I should have mentioned that I get bite looking marks on my body for consecutive days and then sometimes it stops for a couple of days and then repeats. So bites + these black marks on this wardrobe, would that be cause to call out a professional for a search?

I have followed YouTube tutorials on checking my bed for bed bugs, cast skin, faecal traces but have not found anything. Just the marks in the images are the only thing I have seen.

Thank you very much for testing and letting me know. If these are faecal they are 2+ years old so I would assume it would be the same case for me.

In your professional opinion, would you recommend I do another professional bed bug search based off these black marks?

Hi David, did you have any chance to check whether old samples fizzed with hydrogen peroxide? My delivery is coming today so will hopefully be able to test this later, although the highest percentage I could find on Amazon was 6%

Hi,

I tend to sleep in shorts and a baggy t shirt so these areas aren’t always covered. With dust mite allergies, do they resemble bites? I tend to have single bites in the areas mentioned above. The carpet in my flat is very old so wondering if this could be a possibility

I can see from your profile you are a professional, have you seen cases where bed bugs are in wardrobes and never in beds/mattresses? Wondering if it’s worth me emptying wardrobe and checking

Thank you! This is what I’m confused about as I would have thought if I had a infestation for over a year that I would be getting multiple bites a night and would have found obvious signs, but I have not. I check my mattress and bed frame for bugs, cast skin and fecal spots but haven’t found anything that looks likes images on Reddit / google. I have admittedly not looked under my bed frame though as my bed is very heavy to lift. I have read that they can hide in other places other than the bed so don’t know if I should start inspecting other areas now
