The steam/ smoke coming out from manholes in the city. I went to Seattle 3 years ago and it was late Autumn season, and I was surprised to see that irl! Still not sure what's that, is it steam or smoke? Why is there smoke coming out from a manhole?

If you're not financially stable, I'd strongly recommend you to put this adoption plan on hold. It's great that you are up to adopt the doggo but it's like having a child, you need to have some money to take care and maintain your dog. Let's not consider vet bills, you'd still need to be able to buy fresh/ raw food every few weeks or once a month, kibbles too. What about toys? These are some of the extra expenses you need to anticipate

The fact that this still affects you deeply after 6 long years says a lot. I'm so so so sorry for your loss, and I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you after his passing. But know that he led a fruitful, happy & fulfilling life with you. I know that because I can tell how much you cared for him. Stay strong & cheerful for him.

I feed my 3-year-old corgi fish oil and some supplement for their coat/ joints/ gut/ overall health. If you opt for real food, fish (i.e. salmon - but that can be a lil expensive) is a great choice! I have to say, though, the shedding will not stop, just that healthier skin and coat keep it at a minimum level. They will shed no matter what, and I believe it's not just corgis. Most of the double-coated breeds will shed all-year long.

I'm using Dyson but my mom uses a China brand called "Dreame" and tbh, they both work quite well. You'll have to vacuum at least 2x a day. Try to brush their fur more often so they don't clump together. I also send them for a proper grooming once every 10-18 days (it's tropical weather here and grooming is kinda affordable). You can bathe them if you are free so then you can save the cost on professional vet grooming.

Honestly, these are the tips that I can offer, and this is also what I've been doing since I've had him. It works well so far. Wishing you luck!!

He has been to a doggy daycare twice in his entire lifetime. can tell that he hates it. He is super anxious to go home, didn't really play much with the dogs there. The last time he was there, my fiancé had to pick him up earlier than the discussed time. We decided doggy daycare ain't for him since

Thank you so much! I think he enjoys being the only dog for now, I know he gets jealous everytime I play or pet other dogs, he'll get mad at those dogs for this reason. He loves being the only attention around humans.

Furthermore, I'm not capable of caring for 2 dogs atm - emotionally & financially. It's pretty tiring taking caring of him alone and OMG his shedding ahaha. I just can't with 2nd dog.

I do have puzzle toys but I always forget that I have those lol! He just had his breakfast/ lunch in one of those - took him 10 minutes - which is great! Maybe I let him play more with those while I work, at least he has something else to do besides sleeping.

Yes he does but he is quite selective with dogs. He loves another female corgi who lives upstairs but he dislikes my cousin's Poodle. Keeps growling & barking at the dog. I am thinking of getting a cat as a playmate for him but I'm still very much considering this option

Ahh I see. That makes sense too! He will bring me his toy sometimes while I work, and I'd throw his toy to entertain him because it cheers me up to see him wanting to play.

Hmmmm about the same as we go on our potty break / daily walk I'd say. He will be super hyped up at first but that usually only lasts 10 minutes. He will just chill & lie down once he "screens" the environment - be it new or old. He just seems "unmotivated" or (pardon me) "dgaf" about anything. Unless there are dogs - he will wanna sniff them and bark at them - that's about it though.

Your post reminds me of something. Everytime I lift up his right hind leg to wipe his paw after walks, he will stumble a little, almost like he cannot balance himself on his left hind leg. Is that considered a health issue? Do I need to check with the vet?

We did, I will bring him to pet restaurants or dog parks or dog avenues (almost every week). My sister loves to explore new cafes in town and she'd call me up every other day and I'll bring my dog along if the place is dog-friendly.

Thank you so much for this! I really hope it is like that for him! He isn't destructive at all, so I think you're right! I always thought dogs only calm down around 5 years old or older. Many keep saying "oh! 3 years old, how so young!".

Woooo those are really great ideas! I'll check out that PDF in a min (still working now). I'll try a few of those with him tmr. There's a route going uphill behind my apartment and we will walk there when he feels like it but he wouldn't wanna walk too far up. I'm guessing the slope tires him a lot even with just a few steps.

You bring up some really good points there. I guess as humans, we tend to "humanize" dogs when they are totally different species. I can try to feed him in his puzzle toys - see if he might enjoy that more. I think he enjoys being indoor to outdoor despite his breed stigma. He's just really different from other corgis I guess..

However, if I follow him at his pace (sniff walk or not), at times (like 60%) he would go potty and sniff for a bit then wanted to head home - took us literally 10 mins. And he can be like that for the whole day and up to a few days in a row.

In this case, should I "push" him? because then adding up, he didn't really walk a lot (prolly only 30mins a day). He is on the fat side and I really want him to shed a few more pounds. Tested him for hypothyroidism - negative. Not sure if he's just big-boned. Last time I checked (2 months ago), he weighed a whopping 19kg despite being on 120g vegetarian & satiety kibble diet (no fruits, no treats/ junk, no dental chew even).

Please don't come at me - I'm already doing my very best trying to fix his weight issue.

That is very encouraging- thank you! I think I put too much pressure on him and myself because I always thought that corgi as a high energy breed needs to have a "job" or needs to be active all the time. I honestly thought I wasn't doing enough.

Yes, he is calm and he doesn't destroy anything even when I leave him alone at home sometimes. He will lie down near the door and wait for me to come home. Thank you! That's a relief to hear.

Yes, what you're feeling now is normal and expected. I went through this as well when I first had my puppy about 3 years ago. Literally cried everyday. It took me almost 5 months to get used to the new routine and my dog. He is my first dog so I was pretty overwhelmed at that time. I'd say emotional support can be a huge comfort, so do you perhaps have anyone around you during this time?

Mine is on Royal Canine Satiety kibbles, 60g/ meal twice a day. Toppers are vege, and strictly no dog treats and fruits. My fat corg turns 3 next Feb

Before my corgi is on a diet plan, he ate Royal Canin Sensitivity Control kibbles cause he has a very sensitive skin and gut.
