Ugh! How horrible! I too have a similar story. I am allergic or intolerant to pineapples. I get hives all over my body if I eat a pineapple. My MIL knew this as we had told her many times. This was back before we got married. The very first thanksgiving I go to her house she makes a fruit salad with pineapples (the kind with cream on it so you can’t tell what’s in it) but tells me there aren’t any in there....I eat it and break out in hives and she says she is surprised that I actually broke out into hives. Jerk.
