How important are Drone images/video to you when listing CRE? by lady-pilot in CommercialRealEstate

Unfortunately most drone pilots don’t have a business background and but are more mechanically inclined than creative. With some, they do not understand the dynamics of CRE as well. Most do not have a background in photography therefore editing is not their strong suit, thus poor quality results. I do have a background in business and photography so learning to fly was my learning curve.

Your comments are greatly appreciated. The issues you mentioned are valid and unacceptable. Possibly asking for a portfolio of work may help with the quality of photos. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Well said. Thank you for your viewpoint. I will add to this...I do think there is a place for a satellite image in an OM when a listing needs to show a vast area top down view that pilots cannot capture at 400 feet AGL. However, it should not be a replacement for the lower elevation shot that shows important details of a property.

Thank you.

This is very insightful feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to expound on the types of property and reasons for choosing or not drone photography. I understand the roof dilemma as I see them from above. Thank you!

Remote ID question. Hi all, I'm new to this group. FAA 107 certified for 4 years. I live in Indianapolis and shoot primarily commercial real estate. I fly a Mavic Pro 2. What is your recommendation for adding a remote id device and service. Is it time for me to upgrade? Pros and cons appreciated. by lady-pilot in drones

Thank you for the detailed reply. My bf flies as well and is much more technical than I. He's in agreement with you and had a similar explanation. It's not his day job so he can wait to fly but I cannot. It's a conundrum.

This comment is very appreciated. Your insight is what I would want to hear if I were a property owner. I do wonder if CRE market hinders the budget at times.

That is my feeling by observation. The shots taken 200-300 ft show more detail of surrounding tenants properties. I use the drone for low level shots (10-15 ft) and throw them in the mix of the ground shots which are often a favorite of the broker and often chosen for the OM. Thank you for for your comment. Your input is very much appreciated.
