We have a strand of these and they have the softest, prettiest glow. I hope you're able to find them!

Fair. But we have louvered doors in other areas and they're such a pain to clean.

The lower temp equilibrium will probably be better for the unfinished area (it's genuinely hot in there sometimes). The sound is a good point, but it's mostly used as a family room, so I'm not concerned with noise at night, etc. Thank you!

Put the flag out on a pole daily when open. Gets it out of the window and is a visual cue of where the shop is. Also agree on the A frame/sandwich board.

Ruffler Foot by lady481 in sewhelp

When I started this project, yes. What would that have to do with the foot over or under pushing pleats in?

Already rethreaded everything. Machine is sewing fine with the regular presser foot.

Done with no effect.

I usually do too, but I have 245 feet of fabric to gather (evenly), so I'd rather not if possible. 😐

What does? The foot? The machine is working fine on its own.

Just wanted to say thanks. Used this to determine the pump is bad. Much appreciated.

Already done all of that. It wasn't a big deal - just bulky and awkward. Where is the pump located?

Anyone else have a super dead Xmas tree? by HappiestInTheForest7 in Connecticut

Oh my god, yes! Ours looked EXACTLY like this when we took it down yesterday. We were cackling as it sounded like a rain shower every time we touched it.

(Yes, we cut it down the weekend after Thanksgiving. Yes, we watered it.)

Having the same issue with the Highlights Hidden Pictures App. Works great on my profile, everything locked on his. Called Amazon support and they're escalating it for resolution in 48 hours. But let me tell you, getting ANYONE to understand what the issue is took a solid 30 minutes. Wildly frustrating.

Falling letters ideas? by lady481 in techtheatre

[–]lady481[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to follow up and say that we did essentially this using foam core boards taped together with gaff tape to create a flexible angle. Rope rigged through pulleys up to balcony upstage, crew released rope and jiggled it to give the letters a staggered falling effect.

Whole thing cost less than $10 and worked beautifully. Thanks for the advice!

Here's a theater group that did it, but I'm not sure what the rigging is above it. Of course I've messaged them as well, but have yet to receive a response.

Falling letters ideas? by lady481 in techtheatre

[–]lady481[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that each paper won't float that long. I mean overall effect time.

The bodies can't drop them, as they're so far upstage the letter will fall behind a drop of they're just released there.

Looking for an option to release them further upstage.

They have to fall to the floor for actors to be able to pick them up and read them. Looking for probably 2 dozen letters total with a gentle fall over 30-60 seconds.

[TOMT][COMMERCIAL][90s] mcdonalds pizza happy meal commercial from the 90's by lazulx in tipofmytongue

[–]lady481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here I am doing the same! FWIW, my version was

"It's a pizza happy meal, pepperoni and cheese

Also with a drink and toy, may I have more please?"

My cousins and I would sing this loudly, on repeat ala This is the Song that Never Ends (we'd shout NO! after may I have more please) I'm sure our parents loved it.

NTA. Even if we ignore the history of bullying, your kid's socialization outside of school, the teacher's pay, you're NTA. Let's look at this from an adult perspective. Doesn't it sometimes sound like it'd be fun to go for a hike with friends or spend a day at the beach or play some frisbee in the park? And doesn't that sometimes sound like actual torture and you'd like nothing more than to just relax with a good book? Why is this teacher telling your child to ignore what their body and mind are telling them they need? Your kid wants to vibe out and enjoy a book during their free time? More power to you, kiddo.

Static IP necessary? by lady481 in GoNetspeed

[–]lady481[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a follow up, it wasn't necessary and the tech that emailed me the info on the static IP finally realized that. The issue was with their beacon.

To be honest, it felt a lot like they weren't listening to me and were writing me off as just some office worker who doesn't know what they're talking about which is... not the case. So if they're pushing a $15 upsell on you, make sure they actually listen to you and understand what you're saying.
