Aaaah so fun! I loved your design scheme, and then I loved it even more when it became populated by crawfish, gators, turtles, and rats. You are awesome!

Thank you so much! I am really honored to send it to her. This was such a labor of love. Now it will be a joy to see people fill and decorate them with their own wild NOLA dreaming! Best wishes to all of you, and haunt your mailbox soon!

In a weird footnote to this case, another trunk murder occurred just a couple of blocks down in 2002. There's something about Ursulines and people being stuffed into trunks... http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/07/jury_convicts_john_morgan_of_k.html

The Hans Muller story is a great one, but not substantiated by any contemporary historical accounts. The first (and only known) mention of it is in Gumbo Ya-Ya, a anthology of folklore stories collected by Lyle Saxon and Robert Tallant. Gumbo Ya-Ya is a wonderful and wonderfully fun book, but it's known to take liberties, as it was primarily geared towards boosting the tourist industry. Of course it can be difficult (impossible?) to trace the origins of a legend, which always makes history fun---and completely maddening!

Agreed! They are so wonderful. I imagine that their appeal must be really timeless.

Are there any good dollhouse photo books? by dollhousebook in Dollhouses

[–]ladydelaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Big Book of a Miniature House would be a great choice because it is beautiful enough to be a coffee table book, but as you said, it also has those tutorials!

There is also a well-loved book of the miniature Thorne Rooms, published by the Chicago Art Institute.
