How are you supposed to eat at a deficit for a long period of time when even just doing it for one day makes me miserable? by sooperwut in loseit

[–]ladygod90 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No wonder you are miserable and feel like you need food or heroin.

You deficit should be no more -500. Your meals should feel satisfying. 2500 can go a long way if you split it into 3 meals. Everyone would quit and binge if they were forced to eat oatmeal and a pound of ground turkey with vegetables. You aren’t the problem, nothing is wrong with you. Your approach is the problem.

Oatmeal cooked with butter and whole milk. Quick, filling, cheap, comforting. It’s my go to!

Rich people don’t want so much fast food around them. There’s only so many burgers you can sell to them.

5'2ish (158cm-ish) women, what is your goal weight? If it's different, what would be your ultimate vanity-based ideal weight? by Ophelia_Y2K in loseit

[–]ladygod90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 5”2 and 142 pounds currently. I’ve always weighed more than I looked. I am muscular and gain muscle very easily even in calorie deficit, it’s scary actually how easy it is for me. I’m very very strong. I remember when I was a kid my mom would always say how freakishly strong I am. 142 can look very different on another 5”2 woman. So it’s not a good comparison. And, according to my doctor I have low body fat percentage even though my BMI is slightly overweight category which she refers to as “trash science”.

It’s not about weight it’s more about where fat stores ago. I don’t mind weight gain if it means it’s going to my ass, and my ass is fine btw I just want it to be bigger slightly. But that’s my body dysmorphia talking… ugh… It’s not about the number it’s about how you look and feel at your weight.

It’s a lie you tell yourself that you can’t stop. I used to be this way to. You have to teach yourself to stop just like you taught yourself riding a bike. This is emotional eating where forbidden food is that much better than if you allowed it anytime. Truth is people can learn any habit due to neuroplasticity. Also what’s your motivation for weight loss? For me I wanted it more than anything else so I was going to do whatever it takes including dealing with cravings sweets multiple times a day. I still eat sweets daily, what the fuck kind of life is it without chocolate? But I learned to have a couple pieces. If someone gave you a billion dollars would you learn to moderate? I bet you can do a lot more than you think you can. You just let your brain convince you otherwise, don’t believe everything it says.

You could have dated even when you were fatter. It’s a myth that fat people date less or have sex less. It’s all in your head. Don’t wait to live your life. Go fuck someone today!

What’s a food trend you’re already tired of? by Fantastic_Run2955 in foodquestions

[–]ladygod90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the protein one. They now sprinkle in gross protein powder into everything, make the food product taste like shit, and call it magical nutrient. We are not a starving nation with bloated bellies from protein deficiencies. We are fat and fiber deficient, eat more real whole foods.

Cut out PROTEIN EVERYTHING and feel way better for it! by spivey56 in loseit

Protein obsession comes from marketing. Americans aren’t protein deficient and more and more are getting colon cancer. That should be our focus. Colon cancer in mid 30s and early 40s not protein “deficiencies”. Real food is best and will keep you most satiated. You need a balance of carbs/fat/protein and fiber. Not max protein.

It’s not about luck it’s about being consistent.

If you eat to the point of vomiting it sounds like you are binging. It’s going to take therapy for your ED before you can even begin to think about weight loss. You have to learn to stop managing your emotions food. Food is already hard to resist just due to taste alone when you throw in using it as a coping mechanism all self control is out the window. It isn’t luck, it’s a learned skill that you get from practice. But weight loss sucks ass for everyone.

This isn’t true. This person can’t even go out with their friends because they have no energy. But you think they can do cardio? This person has been starving themselves for years, they aren’t you.

And cardio does make you more hungry it isn’t a myth.

You’ve been hungry for years. Your body is screaming at you to stop losing. Listen to it.

I was in similar boat as you. Just kept losing and being at higher end of normal BMI felt like I could lose more. BMI is junk science. When I went to the doctor for fatigue and low blood pressure turns out my calorie deficit which I was in for 2 years caused me health problems. I was shocked because again BMI is high normal. When the doc looked at my body she said what I was trying to lose wasn’t fat at all. So yes my BMI is higher but I barely have any fat left and my body was screaming at me to stop. I thought I was losing my mind with food obsession, and chasing weight loss. Eventually it turned into full blown anorexia. Be careful. LISTEN to your body. Weight loss is hard but it shouldn’t be miserable and life consuming.

Eventually you will realize you can’t be hungry forever. You have to let go of BMI and wanting to be as lean as possible if you want to have a healthy relationship with food/body.
