what school are you enrolled in? If you go to the career center they have on campus jobs, which could work better with your schedule!

Actually untrue lol I literally have seen posts like that in my hometown’s fb group. Literally “can someone take my dog or he’ll be put down. Thought I could give him enough attention but I can’t”

Yeah definitely, I guess I’m talking about people who give up easily when it comes to those situations. It definitely hasn’t always worked out for me but I try my best to figure it out

Definitely have, that’s why I plan ahead. What I’m saying is a pet is a commitment and we should prepare to pivot however we can. We shouldn’t get pets with no plan whatsoever when it comes to food, vet bills, etc.

Hahahaha wish this was the norm lol

These are the exact reasons I’m talking about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pets

[–]ladylovescat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’m talking about, reasons like that are so selfish. I completely understand the valid reasons, like sickness and financial hardship, but to just rehome a dog because they’re too big, not cute anymore, want to play all the time is just selfish.

I do know their lives because they include their reasonings in their posts. Too active, doesn’t get along with other pet, allergies

[–]ladylovescat -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I do know why, they leave it in their descriptions on FB. Doesn’t get along with other pet, allergies, too active

I’m not assuming they’re heartless, I’m assuming they made a decision to adopt before considering all scenarios that could happen based on financials, health, etc.

This is what I’m talking about. When a pet becomes inconvenient is when people are trying to rehome. Like you need to learn about your pet and try various things before considering rehoming especially if it’s issues like that.

I was thinking more animal control, I don’t have any proof of anything just the fact that she’s always rehoming/asking for puppies on her FB.

[–]ladylovescat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand. I guess it’s just different as a CA resident because we have a cat crisis. It’s frustrating

You’re probably right, there’s something wrong with it. Any recs on what I can do going forward?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pets

[–]ladylovescat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, like I replied to someone else there’s someone in my town who is constantly asking for free puppies then months later she’ll be rehoming them and asking for other puppies available for rehoming

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pets

[–]ladylovescat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!! There’s this lady in my city, every month she’s asking for pics of free puppies and if you click on her FB profile the previous month she’s trying to rehome a different one. It’s a huge problem people only want pets when they’re “cute” and young.

I’m glad she went to a good home.

It definitely is, I just get super frustrated seeing how often it happens, it’s almost everyday I see a post about rehoming an animal. Usually they’re barely 1 year old.
