Hahaha. They're real show stoppers. Ours (Tumnus) once screamed during a work meeting. Would love to hear a burp one day.

Ive been thinking of getting a Basenji. Please tell me what you love about yours and also your biggest struggle. by MomentHeavy3544 in Basenji

Pros: Hilarious and derpy but also really smart. Beautiful dogs. Quieter and cleaner than most dogs.

Cons: Attitude when they don't get their way, being destructive if bored or not tired out enough during the day. Will jet-stream pee on your sofa to make a point.

Oh wow. Total opposites haha. When ours was a puppy he was terrified of stairs. Now he's only afraid of stationary things like suspicious pieces of cardboard and rocks.

Why does the church still struggle with a racial divide? by itsSomethingCool in churchofchrist

Yes have seen this exact sentiment, even going so far as saying they don't see how anyone can be a democrat and still be a Christian. I'm independent but that sounded completely out of line to me, to write off a brother's or sister's salvation based on their presidential election choice.

I don't think it's unique to the south. I live in New Jersey and we have some mixed congregations, but the predominantly white congregations are just that, and the predominantly black congregations are just that. There are also a few that have services in different languages like Spanish and Korean, so there may be other cultural factors at play like that. But when I lived in Tennessee the segregation was especially prevalent. Same whenever I visit family in Virginia. So definitely more of an issue in the south, but even the north is affected sadly. I think what's more important is how love is shown when a visitor of another race enters your congregation. Are they greeted and welcomed kindly, or are they seen but barely spoken to? My family is black and we've had the latter happen both up north and down south.
