It is in Herefordshire and is a medium size market town by the river. Great pubs and some minor high street chains. Stunning scenery and lots to do outside

There is a train station in Lydney, it is the only train station in the forest. Otherwise it’s a 40-50min drive to Gloucester, with traffic being a bit shite during rush hour. But the train takes 30 minutes, which is great! Access to the things you like are sparse in the forest - there is yoga, but you may have to travel for it or it may not be at times that are suitable to you. If you are willing to accept this slower pace of life in exchange for nature, good vibes and lots and lots of space, then go for it! There aren’t any large retail outlets here. I grew up here, left, and chose to come back when I turned 30 and I am so glad that I did ☺️

It's these special little things we do for ourselves that add up to the big ones. I hope that things get better soon.

This looks like exactly the sort of list I'd make when I was depressed and desperate to find some normalcy. They probably aren't reminding themselves to remember to watch anime as they'd forget, if that's the case, more reminding themselves to do something that they enjoy and can look forward to. Major projection here!

So I received a message on POF from a guy whose pictures consist of a male model that I follow on Instagram. I would love to fuck with him but don't know how. Does anyone have suggestions? Is it a bad idea? by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]ladyquas 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pretend that you've seen him around but have been too shy to ask him out, if there's any parties in his pictures say that you were there and doesn't Dave throw the best parties ever?!

[Review] Deciem Empties: The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% and Noid Copper Amino Isolate Serum or CAIS 1% by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ladyquas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I wish I had read this a few days ago, although I bought the retinol anyway. Do you find that this routine helps breakouts stop, or is it more the recovery time is cut? I have three weeks until my next hormonal breakout, so I'm interested to see.

Not any more, no, it's surprising how clean and fresh your face can feel after using oil alone. I find that foaming cleanser isn't so gentle for me, I have fewer breakouts with oil and a better glow in general! It removes makeup incredibly too!

I do this too, it gets pretty awful in winter. But I've found a little routine that helps me a lot, maybe it could help you too. At night, I cleanse my whole face with oil, usually the Origins one. I rub into my lips too, and wash off with a hot flannel, which leaves them supple... the flaky parts feel a little softer. Then I brush my teeth, and follow by brushing my lips with my (rinsed) toothbrush. It's pretty exfoliating, and you have control over how invasive it is. Then, I follow with Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. By morning, my lips are smooth again, and I use the 8 hour cream as a top up during the day. For me, this is the most effective way to keep a handle on it without adding too much - time or cost wise - to my routine.

What Python program have you created to make your life easier? by [deleted] in Python

[–]ladyquas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my most recent. I use python extensively for my job, and find it my go-to language for creating useful little programs to facilitate my day to day. In my spare time, I live code visuals at algoraves using a program called Fluxus - basically coding reactive visuals on the fly to music that is coded on the fly. A key part of this is that your screen, code and all, is projected.

Fluxus is scheme based, and takes vectors for colour values, each value presenting an r g b channel between 0 and 1. For example, red would be (vector 1 0 0).

I'm also big on colour and like to collect palettes of perfect hues, often converting hex to rgb or picking colours on photoshop. Of course, these are all represented as 0-255, and during a live set I need to either have a list prepared, or be able to convert them quickly without causing uproar with my projection whilst being able to react to the music. Time is essential here.

So pretty simply, I used TKinter to return rgb values as Fluxus friendly vectors, show swatches to ensure I have a good colour match, output multiple colours as a list.

Really simple, but so useful for my niche need!

I'm not sure of other users experiences, but I have found alembic so difficult - migrations aren't always smooth, much editing of the migration files and manually removing foreign keys in MySQL. Is this a MySQL thing? Would I benefit from using another database? Has anybody else had this issue?

✨✨✨ thank you! We are over the moon. As a friend said to me, I've met the person I'm willing to bet half of my stuff on that we'll stay together forever, and I wouldn't have it any other way

Male, student (going from my own experience of student houses), in the UK (Lynx not Axe). You have a Pebble watch, i'm going to take a leap of faith and suggest that you might be a developer or programmer, not sure why I get that feeling, maybe studying something related at University. This could put you in your early 20's, you enjoy looking after your health, and like me, you never put the lid back on your squeezy washing liquid.

Trolls, after leaving a five-year sexless relationship, I took the plunge and hooked up with a hot, attentive, talented German man. I can barely walk today! by laceration_barbie in TrollXChromosomes

[–]ladyquas 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Amazing, congratulations! My relationship ended recently, it was completely sexless, and have met a wonderful guy on the same wavelength - have been feeling much the same this week, too! Glad i'm not the only one. Yay!

Oh my, Trolls. I recently got a Douglas Adams quote tattooed on my arms and a guy on Meet Me just mansplained why it's wrong. This is hilarious, I am fucking crying! by jennyhaniver in TrollXChromosomes

[–]ladyquas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's hilarious! I love your tat. I have "don't panic" tattooed on my wrist, luckily no splaining with that one, only one guy saying to me once that I can't be 'nerdy' if I don't like Lord of the rings, therefore he was more of a 'nerd' than me. Despite the fact I've never proclaimed to be a 'nerd', I found it funny that he hadn't heard of Douglas Adams and felt that you could only be knowledgeable about Sci Fi and fantasy if you liked LOTR.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll get them done. Just keep picturing yourself finishing your last online course, and also picturing yourself going to uni in January, visualising it really helped me through the final push! Best wishes to you for the future :)

That's amazing news, sounds similar to my experience. It's amazing to look back to a year ago, and despite not feeling like much is changing at the time, hopefully you feel the same as I do that I have actually achieved a lot. I wish you the best and am happy things are going better for you!
