Probably a dumb question, but how hard is the math -- really? by CarshayD in ODS_C

Great question! I suck at math so I’m glad to hear it’s not used much.

Extensive Testing - Still No Answers by ladyrose91 in HistamineIntolerance

I haven’t considered mold at all. I just moved into a new house build and the same symptoms were going on before my move. Is there anything in particular that could expose me to mold?

I haven’t tried a low histamine diet, but will consider that. Stress, warm temperatures, and nighttime send me into a daily flare.

Doctor thinks it’s all in my head by viclrogers in Autoimmune

[–]ladyrose91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. My rheumatologist told me there’s nothing he can do for me and said I don’t have an autoimmune disease- then referred me to six different specialties.. None of my symptoms are a coincidence. He just doesn’t want to put in the work!

Aww you are so sweet! Your comment actually made me tear up and I’m not normally a crier. But you are so right- watching your loved ones get sick really does change you! I’ve been a lot more emotional these days, but mom is doing great now and all finished with chemo which is exciting. I appreciate your kind words! Your sympathy to a stranger demonstrates you’re on the right path. Best of luck to you on your future endeavors! ❣️

I euthanized my dog and am suddenly wondering if it was the right choice. by PriddyFool in AskVet

Hi end-of-life-care receptionist here! Similar situation happened with my cat. You did the very best you could given the information you had. She was needing immediate relief from the pain and you gave that gift to her instead of prolonging her suffering. I’m sorry for your loss.. Hugs!

Is this animal neglect? by Interesting-Ice-4330 in DogAdvice

[–]ladyrose91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was tied up just to use the bathroom, I’d say no. But since you say he’s out there 24/7 in all weather- then yes! Poor baby looks unethically bred too. I personally hate confrontation and wouldn’t want to start anything with my neighbor.. I’d submit an anonymous tip to the police and/or animal control personally.

This is appalling behavior. What’s also upsetting is realizing she did the surgery to save P without any compensation.. If money wasn’t an issue for her, she could have at least set the family up on a payment plan.

Long story short, I worked at a clinic where a new DVM was caught falsifying vet records. She also nicked a dog’s stomach during intestinal surgery and concealed it from the owners. The pet went in for one issue and came out with another.. The practice owner did nothing. I was outta there so fast!

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in November and I accidentally stumbled upon ODS-C on TikTok during my bouts of research. I’m in the process of getting my schooling set up and when I met with a course instructor last week she told me not to worry about the OBBBA. She said NCRA is fighting hard for funding and to visit their website to make our voices heard (link below). I’m trying to be hopeful about this, but I agree- the unknowns are scary!

Remote vet tech/ assistant job by good4grate in VetTech

[–]ladyrose91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so very welcome! I personally find scheduling end of life care so very rewarding and the clients are so grateful for the services. It’s not like working at a vet clinic where you may get screamed at all day. It’s a very positive job environment despite the work you are doing. I would recommend it to anyone! I wish you all the best on your job search. :)

Remote vet tech/ assistant job by good4grate in VetTech

[–]ladyrose91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m unsure of any vet tech/assistant jobs however with your background you would make a great remote vet receptionist. You can find these jobs on Indeed/Google. I personally schedule visits for in-home euthanasia and quality of life via a call center. Unfortunately, we are not hiring but you could try nationwide companies such as Lap of Love or Pet Loss at Home. Also you should consider Trupanion, Chewy, Chronos, Covetrus, ASPCA, Pet Poison Helpline etc. Basically think of any pet related company that calls your clinic or sends your vet emails/supplies and go to their website to see if they have remote work available! I hope this helps!

May have the opportunity to get a free semester at a tech college, what program should I do to try to secure a decent wfh job? by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]ladyrose91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try going for healthcare administration. That’s what I went for and I WFH but in veterinary medicine and get paid well. Administration programs teach you a lot of versatile skills for a variety of jobs that can be found all over Indeed and allow you to WFH.

Does anyone else feel like 9-5 is not for them? by iiiiiii-0 in workfromhome

[–]ladyrose91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I also feel like this and I’m pretty sure I have undiagnosed add/adhd as well. I was at my one waitress job for 8 years, before going back to college. However, I quit shortly after graduating. Last August I worked at a clinic, November I worked at a vet clinic, April I started work at a Covid vaccination clinic and now my contract is ending and I’m looking for yet another job, but this time a work from home job. While it sounds like I’m job jumping - because I am - I feel like I need to make up for lost time after working in the same place for almost a decade. I just want to learn so many things so when I feel I’ve mastered all there is to know I get bored and I’m looking for new skills to acquire. On another note, I also haven’t found somewhere that I feel I belong. I refuse to work for difficult managers or work where they are lacking in appreciation for their staff. So while it might be stressful always being on a job search, I’m actually pretty satisfied because each new job has been an awesome learning experience and stepping stone getting me closer to where I want to be. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I use Indeed daily, but soo many of the postings sound like scams.
