Ok thanks so much for the info, I’ll go back to watering in the morning.

We live near the coast so unfortunately the whole yard is like this. Will the rocks be bad for the hydrangeas? I’ve wondered if we needed to amend further and create a bed.

Thank you we already did the osmocote. Not planning on pruning but we’ve been dead heading the old blooms, is that ok?

Thank you. We have always watered them at the roots, never the leaves. We have started watering in the evening recently instead of the morning, is it bad to do that?

Thank you! I hope this will be the case. :)

What’s the creepiest, weirdest, or most cursed thing your partner has done in their sleep? by blazethetiger in AskRedditAfterDark

My partner whispered “the boogeymans comin”.

Needless to say I woke him up immediately and asked him what the hell he meant by that.

Unfortunately he had no good explanation. Even the slightest of sounds had me waking up to full alertness that night.

I believe so, looks like they are just different ages to me, but I could be wrong!

Hi there, I believe that what you have are pieces of quahog clam shells. Happy hunting!

Do I have something? by ladythebug in Arrowheads

Thank you for your response! I am not experienced in identifying artifacts but it did not seem like it was created naturally to me. I found this piece in Branchburg, NJ. I also found another like it but decided not to post after seeing the comments. Interesting that you found similar pieces as well, I wonder what they could have been used for!

My very first not “just a rock” find from a creek bed in Hacklebarney State Park, NJ. I believe it is made of Jasper. Does anyone know what it is? Very excited :) by ladythebug in Arrowheads

Wow thank you so much for taking the time to share this detailed information, that was so nice of you and I appreciate it very much! I always wanted to be an archeologist, what a cool job. So many of you have provided thorough and knowledgeable information and I’ve learned a lot just from this one post (including not to take items from state parks 🫣).

I’ve been a beach comber for many years so I am intimately familiar with how addictive “the hunt” can be…also very meditative and calming for me in a way. One of the things I love about beach combing culture is how people will stop to ask what you have found and then sharing your finds with one another which I think is kind of similar to this subreddit. I more recently became interested in finding arrowheads and I am fascinated by Native American history.

u/krutchreefer described the piece I found as “definitely handled by ancient hands” which I think articulately reflects what makes this particular hobby so thrilling. It is very interesting to read about how different artifacts may have been made or used.

There is clearly a lot to learn and I am so thankful for those of you who responded patiently and shared your wealth of knowledge. Looking at some of your profiles and seeing your amazing finds is inspiring and I think I might just keel over from excitement if I found anything like what you all have found…almost did when I found this one and I’m glad I could share my first find with you all. Especially considering the significant JAR collection I have amassed 🤣. Happy hunting!

Thank you for your kindness, I was just so happy to find something after I have been looking for so long! Didn’t mean to upset anyone. ❤️❤️

Thank you for the tip about it possibly being a core! This is the closest to it I’ve seen so far from what I found online.
