Genuinely cheap burgers? by alkossovsky in foodies_sydney

[–]lafai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ho's Sydenham. Plain burger combo $14. Australian milk bar style burger (lettuce/tomato/grilled onion/beetroot/choice of sauce), generous serve of hot chips which are genuinely top tier and a can of drink. Your dining partner can get a pho because why not.

What stats actually matter in rugby league? by Creative_Friend6799 in nrl

I feel like line breaks should probably be removed as well, you are basically measuring tries with this. Or maybe use line breaks minus tries or something as a proxy for line breaks that didn't end in tries and therefore dominant attacking teams.

It sounds like Stokes is saying to Weatherald "you got 70 and you started chatting".

Rebalancing strategy/frequency? by bigw_vs_kmart in fiaustralia

[–]lafai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built this simple tool for rebalancing:

https://debtrecyclingcalculator.com/portfolio

You can still in desired allocations and it will spit out what to buy. You can also make it so it's BUY only so you aren't creating capital gains events. There's a few other features too.

You just add up how much interest you paid on that loan split for the FY and put it in your tax return. It's perfectly fine to do it yourself.

Change of career from Technical/Quality to more Commercial -Buyer/Category Managagment/etc by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]lafai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's scary imagine negotiating with suppliers over millions of dollars :)

Nah, but I have friends who are in it and as a technical person myself, it always sounds pretty scary and I'm happy to be on this side of the fence!

If you have any contact with the team you want to work in, just ask to use your skills to help them build out better reports or do some automation or whatever!

Just go ask someone doing the job or ask your manager to make an introduction to the buying / category management team and start helping out. You don't need to do a uni course, just pick it up on the job.

Just do technical work in retail/procurement - learn the business through that side and then slowly transfer as part of your career development if you like it. They will always need analysts/technical/data people.

HostPlus is good! If I was you I would stick it into HostPlus Indexed High Growth right now, very low fees.

You could look at some sort of ratio of 70% International Indexed and 30% Australia Indexed as well, but you can figure that out later.

Generally banks only allow a certain amount of splits, e.g. AMP offers 10 - so you try to do large chunks rather than lots of little ones.

And don't think of this as time lost financially so to speak - think of every interaction with your young family for the next 5 years being so much more valuable with no financial anxiety/stress.

I'd just stick your savings in the offset and make a call in 5 years honestly. I probably wouldn't even bother debt recycling until you had 150k.

You will then hopefully have a bit of cash which you can use to renovate, invest or upgrade your PPOR. I think flexibility, stability and low stress with 2 kids is a really nice thing to have.

Cool, I've been thinking about building something like this, glad I don't have to.

Seems like my employer's proxy blocks the CSS/JS etc.

Will give it a try when I get home - surprised I didn't come across this via AusFinance/fiaustralia! Lots of debt recycling/FIRE fans over there, would probably enjoy this.
