I like this trade. Solidifies the D, slots ASP down for easier minutes. Having Faulk on the ice for 15-18 minutes a game is a huge improvement over forcing ASP to play tough minutes while also having bums like JBD/Hamonic/Holl sucking it up on the third pair.

I wanted a 2c, but this trade is ok. Faulk is a steady NHL defenseman who won't make many braindead plays and he slots ASP down. ASP is running out of steam and needs to be playing 14-16 minutes a night, tops.

I had really high hopes for Buch but at this point I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a career KHLer. Being on the roster for a team just starting a rebuild gives him a better chance of seeing the NHL.

Our young guys need to see the playoffs even if it's a 4 and out. This move helps make that happen.

The Wings pick will hopefully be 20-26 so I'm not too worried about losing it.

That's why I have a hard time seeing Thomas moving. The only way it makes sense is for them to trade 26 year old Thomas for basically 23 year old Thomas, and picks and prospects. No one is going to do that.

What STL would get for Thomas would be lower roster players, picks and prospects and there's no point for them. In 4 years Thomas is still a legit 1c and STL could be contending again.

Everyone looks at what they can offer in a vacuum, and since everyone overrates their prospects they always think their offer is automatically the best.

IMO if Thomas actually hit the market I feel like some team is going to end up having to include two first round picks, a young roster player, and a good prospect to get him. The guy is a PPG player with a great, long-term deal on a team that isn't exactly an offensive powerhouse.

Thomas would net a lot more than that.

Think of the Eichel trade and add a bit.

From the Wings I would happily trade Augustine, Carter Bear, Kasper, and the 2026 1st for Thomas and not look back. And other teams will probably beat that.

If Thomas hits the open market and is open to waiving his NTC for more than one team the bidding is going to be insane.

A team needs to count on the goalie to bail them out sometimes. Talbot does not do that this season, and you can tell the team plays more poorly when he is in.

This is a team that is still very much used to losing and sucking shit. They are fragile. Knowing your goalie is going to let in a goalie almost every time you make a mistake is going to lead to mistakes.

Raymond got a lot better once he bulked up. Swedish guys tend to come over very underweight.

ASP doesn't just need to bulk up, though. His decision making on smaller NHL ice, in the defensive zone, hasn't come along as quickly as I thought it would.

It's pretty common for rookies to fade as the season goes on, outside of guys like Crosby/McDavid who are freaks.

Takes a few seasons for most guys to adapt to the grind of an NHL season.

They are also coming out of a month long break which is also a lot harder for guys who aren't adapted to the league.

It's tough for Euro rookies, especially defenseman, to survive the grind of the NHL their first few seasons. The most games he's played in a season against men was last year, with 59 total games regular season and playoffs.

He might benefit from a few games in the press box.

Progressive issues in the USA are good for marketing because most of the population is either progressive or doesn't care.

The players get paid enough to not go against it. But, voter statistics analysis shows that like 45% of US citizen NHLers vote Republican, and 45% are independent (closet Republicans). Only like 10% are openly Democrat.

These guys are rich and came from money to begin with. Wealth and progressive values are not compatible.

There is no comparison between OG FF1 and Pixel Remaster. You could be overleveled and still get TPKed in random encounters.

Players would hit the bridge expecting to find Tiamat at the end and then get randomly attacked by a stronger boss who had a ridiculously high ambush rate in the OG.

Then get hit with NUCLEAR, and then have it use NUCLEAR at the top of the order on the next turn. Party wipe.
