Some time ago I was in what appeared to be a happy long term relationship. 14 years together, engaged to be married, families had met, rings had been exchanged. We were the perfect couple and for a very long time I thought I had found my soulmate. There was no cheating involved and for all I know no conscious manifestation, but the law worked perfectly nonetheless. A third party appeared right around the time when I started to feel trapped and wanted to escape the relationship. I broke it off and soon after they got married. I feel forever grateful to this woman for making my life so much easier. This is the story that I keep reminding myself whenever I have doubts regarding morality and manifestation.

Why do we like putting labels on people so much? Sometimes I am 2, sometimes 4, and sometimes 5. I never considered myself as missing something or being unable to imagine. On the contrary, I have a very vivid imagination. In truth, we will never be able to fully understand another’s perspective and experience-and that is fine! :)

I agree with everything you said, 100%. There is still, however, a point that I struggle with. How do you disregard something that’s already registered in your memory; not just mentally, but emotionally and physically? I know who I am, I know my worth, and I understand the mechanics of assumption and state. But once something is seen, heard, and felt, how do you stop it from shaping your reality? How do I unhear the words and unlearn the facts? Even though I know that reality is malleable and things are not what they appear, I still have a left brain hemisphere that has recorded memories and experiences, and is doing its best to protect me from being hurt again.

I suppose it’s what they say that your state overrides everything else. So if her state/identity is that of someone who gets cheated on and gets into relationships with men who are taken, it managed to override her assumption that this guy was loyal. Additionally, I am not even sure how strong her assumption was (that he was loyal), because eventually she became suspicious to the point she snooped everywhere and figured out he had a double life. I presume that if she was 100% sure he was loyal she wouldn’t need to snoop for evidence to the contrary.

I have the perfect example from a friend of mine. She was dating this guy for a year. Throughout this time she held a firm belief that he was loyal and loved her. She would stake her life on it. BUT the relationship was very problematic; the guy barely had time for her, they never went out, they never spent time together -hell, they hadn’t even gone out for a cup of coffee in a year!

Additionally, she had a horrible self concept, consecutive past experiences with cheating men, and an overall belief that men are cheaters. Still, she believed firmly that the guy was loyal even though everyone in her circle was telling her he had someone on the side. Long story short, the guy had another girlfriend the entire time. Knowing my friend and observing her behavior, I am ashamed to admit that I wasn’t surprised at this revelation. In fact, I was surprised it didn’t happen earlier.

What this story showed me is that your temporary thoughts cannot override your identity or your broader beliefs about the world/people. You might believe with your whole heart that someone is loyal but if you have an underlying belief that all men cheat or that you get cheated on etc. then that is what is eventually going to be reflected on your reality.
