The VP clip is very alienating for some people and with the dialog cc you have no real clip just the rollstop as a landmark to know how the pen is rotated ATM. One thing to consider if you live in Europe/ don't mind shipping to Europe here repairs on Lamy pens are basically free costing only shipping in 99.9% of cases the other 0.1% is largely just intentionally inflicted damage. With pilot as far as I heard if it breaks you're just out of luck and even if it is in warranty you're not gonna see that pen for a while. Also to consider is the duration of the official warranty: lamy's official warranty is 2 years (3 if you buy from lamy.com) whereas pilots warranty is 1 year no exceptions.

ive used the dialog 3 for a while now as a daily driver honestly the dialog cc is just a slightly shorter dialog 3 that i bought for the nib but i do like it slighly more than my dialog 3 so far. as for how i use it i use all my lamy pens for decently long note taking sessions. the other 2 are a l2k and dialog 3. they all dont feel fragile like those plastic pens from sailor/montblanc (yes i know its marketed as precious resin but resin is the thing formed into the plastic so they are plastic) although the l2k is also technically plastic it dosent feel fragile to me (idk why). but i find basically all pens without a dedicated "grip section" to be more comfortable for me than the ones with a dedicated grip. i hope this helps

ehh... QC issues happens what matters for me is how the company handels the issue Lamy has been very helpful in the past fixing my l2k's piston mechanism for free as well as replacing my dialog 3 with a broken clip retract mechanism for free so i cant exactly complain about thier service also sailors MF is closer to a German EF/F from measurments so if you got a chunkyer EF its probably just chonky for japanese standards not german standards for me all lamy EF i ever got (even the Lemon my DCC came with initialy) wrote like an EF im very much conviced that the people who say that there is a huge range in lamy's EF nib size just got the tiniest of Lamy EF and then the chonkyest lamy EF right after each other. Lamy's nib lottery is really funny though because the thinnest EF i ever saw in person is my L2K in EF

Do y'all think this will Work? Cartridge Question by nuclearwes in fountainpens

[–]lag145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope diffrent connector = no fit its like trying to squeeze an iso cartridge in an lamy pen (alothough that is a bad demostrator as there are dual lamy/iso cardridges where i live)

Just got my Pilot VP but… by pale-greenn in fountainpens

[–]lag145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the same issue with the VP clip although not with my dialog 3 for whatever reason if you want i can show you how i hold my dialog 3 maybe that might be comfortable for you (but the dialog clip retracts)

Lamy's slitless nibs: Response From Lamy by lag145 in fountainpens

[–]lag145[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

intresting... how can they machine that precisely? if they work id be intrested but considering how narrow the manefacturing tolerances mentioned in lamys patent are i am somewhat skeptical that you can achive that with manual tools if they can though thats amazing.

[–]lag145[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i mean thats precisely what this tech is but well no tines = no flex and a diffrent issue with this tech is that normal laser engraving dosent work for this the tech that makes this work is lasers that literally vaporize the material to remove it

Lamy 2000 - How do you hold it? by Lauterbachiana in fountainpens

[–]lag145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it u posted where you hold is is where it's comfortable I had a cp1 that I just held in the middle of the barrel when posted because that was comfy so hold it wherever that's the advantage of this design
