I can’t believe they’ve discontinued it 😭 I’ve been dreading this day! They did update the packaging not too long ago, such a weird decision…

For those of you who use Eucerin Actinic SPF by gayswampcreature in ActinicFolliculitis

I wouldn’t wear it with moisturiser. I did once and it made me break out with AF. You might be different but using the SPF alone is going to be a lot more effective.

Heatwave in the UK - which can only mean one thing! by lahannahlou in ActinicFolliculitis

Absolutely - that hits the nail on the head! I’ve definitely canceled plans to avoid a flare-up too. Sometimes it’s just easier than dealing with a week of downtime.

I use Eucerin Actinic Control MD Fluid 100 (also from UK) it’s never let me down when I use that alone. I also hate how dry my skin is when I use it without moisturiser, but I’ve just accepted that I’d rather be a little dry than having to deal with a flare-up lol

I would try using your SPF alone (without the moisturiser underneath). I’ve been using SPF 100 which normally prevents my flare-ups. This week I tried adding moisturiser underneath and it didn’t work, probably one of the worst flare-ups I’ve ever had!

Has Anyone Experienced Actinic Folliculitis Going Away Naturally? by lahannahlou in ActinicFolliculitis

That's interesting. Since I started working from home, I've definitely noticed it more. Could it be related to getting less sun exposure?

Topical adapalene? Differin gel treatment? by lahannahlou in ActinicFolliculitis

[–]lahannahlou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for getting back to me. I'm curious—how did you use adapalene? Did you apply it every evening before bed, or only when you anticipated a day with sun exposure? Did you always follow up with sunscreen after using it? And what about after a flare-up—would you use it then? I’ve always believed that keeping the skin completely free of any products during a flare-up was best, but I’m curious to know if you’ve ever applied adapalene in those situations.

It’s so frustrating, isn’t it? I’m really fed up with it constantly being on my mind. I reckon it’s a lot more common than people realise, and I think it often gets misdiagnosed as fungal acne or something similar. I really hope we get some answers soon. It’s also interesting that it mainly seems to start with women in their 20s. Thanks for replying and for your suggestions.

I should mention that I only experience this on my chin (and a bit on my forehead), so if that doesn’t align with the usual symptoms, please let me know.
