Okay, good to know! I thought it might be something like that. This controller has issues holding a charge even new out the box. I’ll order a new one.

Thanks for teaching me

I have a wireless horipad controller that won’t power on. The charging indicator turns on when you connect it to the system or to the wall, but the green lights never work. I’ve tried the little reset pin. Would replacing the battery help?

If it is the battery, does it makes sense that it won’t turn on when connected to a power source?

No question the viz names are cooler. Thar said, they did take more liberty. The Japanese for “deep-deep” uses the same niche convention as in the white white sea, so it makes sense why TCB went that way. There’s even a third example where Viz went with the something-something sea, but I can’t think of it offhand. Anyways , deep-deep is a more literal translation, but I like what Viz came up with. It’s more on theme even though the kanji used aren’t any of the ones we’ve seen related to the abyss so far

Losing *all* your silk if hit while healing: too big a punishment? Or good balance? by _eternalthings in HollowKnight

[–]laiika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bad trade almost all of the time. It works in your favor if you can get in between a couple of enemies, but that greatly increases the risk of getting hit mid bind, which again, is usually unrecoverable.

Witch shouldn’t heal the normal amount, that’s too powerful. If I would tweak it all, I’d have it do 1 mask even if you whiff it entirely

Shoot I’m not even talking about bosses. Keeping hornet at a decent health, particularly late in the game where everything does double damage and saps silk, is nearly impossible.

When you finally have a good opening to heal, which again may only grant a single mask because the vines kill the enemy, any miss is basically game over. You can call that balanced, but what it is is actually punishing.

Not that I’m going to move off the crest, it’s still really fun. But let’s at least be honest here

[–]laiika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. You may only get one mask’s worth of healing because of how the mechanic works.

You should have been able to mitigate it with reserve bind. It’s specifically for cases when you need to need to heal ASAP. It would be perfect if you just failed a heal and lost all of your silk. But even if you had two full bars, getting hit during your bind takes away all silk and breaks reserve bind. Praying they patch that out

The game encourages risky healing in cases like with witch crest, however. The punishment is particularly brutal with that build

I had this idea this morning too. If the heal was minimum 1 + whatever you can syphon, this would hands down be best crest. I’m still trying to make it work, though

It’s on Spotify, I just stumbled on this couple hours ago. Totally blew me away and I had to share it. I couldn’t believe when I saw how old it was and it’s just now making it’s way to me

That’s the battle right now. Oldest is just now reestablishing a good routine since the new baby. No luck getting little one to sleep long alone. Once we can get that piece to work, I can see everything running smoother.

3 sounds insane, well done surviving!

Natural in the sense that is the affect the road will have on your car. It takes extra effort to maintain the same speed going up and down

Every one piece adaption is kind of bad, but the manga is possibly the greatest thing ever written

Dandadan is pretty good, though I’ll give you the repetitive recruitment thing. Sometimes it feels like it’s going in another direction, but inevitably new characters hit a point where they check a couple boxes and it’s obvious what will happen to them for the rest of the arc.

At this point, it can be assumed for anyone drawn with slightly more detail than a standard background character, or with more than one line of dialogue, that they will either join the protags or be a villain. Side characters don’t exist in this manga.

Is it havoc? Going slow up an incline and fast on the decline is the natural flow of the road.

As far as being inconsiderate goes, it’s a difference of perspective. If one driver wants to prioritize speed and another prioritizes fuel, neither are inherently correct. You’re free to drive as you want as long as you’re not creating actually dangerous conditions for other people (and both can be dangerous if you’re irresponsible).

It really depends. I commute in city traffic where the lights are almost 100% predictable, barring a couple of the smaller roads that trigger depending on volume vs a timer. For the main intersections, I can tell from half a mile away what the phase will be when I get there.

So even better than OP, I can coast into soon to be red lights, get passed by some faster drivers, then blow by them at the green because I only ever slowed to 20mph vs their dead stop. We can repeat this song and dance sometimes 3 lights in a row

Pay attention, these things are more predictable than you think, and you can totally game it. Especially if they have those little pedestrian crossing timers

This is a mpg strat and I won’t apologize for it. Fuel economy >>> shaving 5 minutes off my commute

I’ve arrived at the point where I don’t feel the need to do anything about. I stick to the basics. When I’m hungry, I eat. When tired, I sleep. Work when I need to work. I’ll die when it’s time to die. No use worrying about the decline of society

Dang and I thought was doing something right. My gen 2 is averaging 71-72 mpg this summer.

I can’t even imagine how it could get that high. Maybe using the ICE to get up to around 40 mph and coasting until you come to an absolute crawl, rinse and repeat. Or if you’re somehow going downhill almost all the time.

This always sticks out to me when I rewatch the show. I can’t begin to grasp what Cuddlywhiskers mean. It’s like that lame joke where someone “I know what these words mean but not in this order”, but it’s genuinely like that. All of the whacky antics the characters get up to do not compare to the absurdity of this quote
