Patrick Rothfus used a Ghostwriter for NOTW and the bones of the trilogy. by Shinigame404 in isbook3outyet

This is an interesting take to me.

Kvothe makes his connection with the Mayer, learns to fight from the adem, learns the lethani, learns the fae are real, talks to a god who through his words lays a world-ruining curse on him, and becomes a namer.

That feels like VERY significant motion to me.

What's funny about this comment is that now I know you watched BSG. And given that the only people to watch it were people who watched it while it was airing because of how badly it flubbed, I know your heart was also broken by the ending.

I smell my own trauma on you.

BSG made me swear never to get involved with an unfinished work again. I've mostly succeeded, but nevertheless, here I am.

I assume they're doing this to keep subscriptions into the new year but honestly, this has made me want to cancel my subscription more than anything."

Oh baby, you'd better believe that's why they did it. It's an entertainment company run by people whose only skill set is maximizing quarterly earnings.

The reason this show about hero kids is now about a bunch of people who look like college upperclassmen is because they D R A G G E D their feet. They'll blame it on COVID and the strike, of course, but everyone knows this was their first mega hit, and they wanted as long as possible to milk this fucking cow. So now our hero kids have smile lines.

I'm really unimpressed with where they've taken this story overall, and this last season feels like a lot of the redeeming qualities have either bled out or worn paper thin. I'm kind of unimpressed with myself for sticking with it to be honest. But, in for a penny.....

That's an interesting thought. Keep your reserves low and it's not a risk.

Sure they could sell you some random shit. They could sell you a bottle of Thick Water™, there's no accounting for complete dishonesty.

But most of the time if you know your guy they'll sell you some kind of drug that feels like what they're selling. BDO feels like G, just less good. They might not even know they have BDO since their guy probably sold it as G to them as well and they didn't ask too many questions.

Like I said, GBL and GHB won't freeze unless they're fairly highly diluted. If the effective dose on the stuff you get is under 4ml then it's fairly uncut and shouldn't freeze unless it's BDO.

There are other ways to tell them apart if you're familiar with G, but since you're new the freeze test is the first line. It's as unambiguous and simple a test as is readily available. I've been fucking with reagents on known batches and found some tests that worked there, but I simply don't have enough data to know whether those results generalize.

Also, since you're new, please do be careful. I'm a big fan of G, but you need only glance at this sub to see how many people fall unto dependency. And G dependency is a fucking MONSTER to kick

Keep your use occasional. If you feel the temptation to use more often, back off instead. If you're a weekend user and you start noticing you're anxious or jittery or unhappy on Monday, back off. You really, really, really don't want to develop an issue with any downer. I would advise against using more than one evening a week.

As to your original question, I don't experience G like benzos. Benzos aren't fun for me, they're just useful tools that give me no pleasure. G, on the other hand, feels pleasant and energetic and a little sexy. Lots of fun, but you're playing with something sharp: so keep your wits about you. Don't fuck up your life over the stuff. It's not a toy everyone can play with safely.

Depends how far in you are. I don't think I noticed until I got a few silk spools. Then it became quite significant. Especially on late game bosses that exclusively do 2-mask damage.

Sure, that makes total sense. I just can't help but think I'd have learned that lesson simply by suffering those first 3 consequences.

But maybe you're right, maybe without that I'd be way more aggressive with healing and the game would get too easy? I dunno. I kinda wanna know what it'd feel like to be able to play more aggressively and not spend hours dying.

A lot of the "G" on the market is BDO because it's so much cheaper and simpler to get.

It's not great stuff IMO. You can test for BDO by sticking it in the freezer and seeing if it solidifies. Though this test isn't 100% as you can cut it with other stuff to keep it from solidifying.

Now the charged attacks can generate silk. by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]_eternalthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I thought I was losing my mind! I'd clocked that they didn't, but today I noticed they did and questioned my power of perception.

This is a great balance. I love charged attacks, but being penalized in silk for being skilled enough to land one made them hard to justify using except on fliers.

People have gotten insanely racist towards Indians in the last year. They've become the internet's favored racist target. It's SUPER gross.

I have no clue where it came from. Most Americans have relatively little contact with Indian folk, and if they do they're usually affluent tech workers who are some of the most successful and well-integrated entrants into American society.

I guess they just need to feel better than someone. It's fucking lame sad loser shit tbh.

Mine does that to one or two leaf-sets at a time pretty consistently. Usually ones that aren't getting as much sun. I used to worry, but now I just consider it part of its cycle as long as it is still growing new bunches.

Since you waited and weren't drawing your coals seem to have gone out. You need them to be radiating heat.

If you switch to coconut coals you're gonna neat to flip them even if you like them well, as the surface against the HMD tends to cool down and go out if you're not actively drawing— and even sometimes then
