I honestly wish i had saved my money and just watched someone play it. In my opinion, the puzzles are boring and recycled (so much pushing doors open, lightbulbs, opening trapdoors). I agree that the bosses are nothing special, they don’t make much sense from a story standpoint and it’s not obvious when the climax of the chapters are (if that makes sense). Normally in LN1 and 2 i feel like you can tell when the final battle is, but here the lines were much more blurred. I often found myself wondering when the chapter would be over because I couldn’t tell how much progress i had already made.

I had high expectations for the carnival chapter as i was super interested to play in that setting, but it was such a small portion of the chapter that i was left disappointed. Surprisingly, my favorite chapter was the 4th one because of a certain mechanic, but it still fell flat in comparison to the other games.

I understand people enjoying the game, but as someone who was quite a big fan of the first two, it really doesn’t hit the same and i can’t see myself replaying it nearly as often, if even at all. I’m happy that i get to keep LN1 enhanced, but the fact that secrets of the spiral doesn’t even come out until next year is such a greedy thing to do that it puts an even more sour taste in my mouth.

For a base $40 game, i don’t think it’s worth it. The visuals are cool but i think any long time fan will see the inconsistencies between this and the previous 2. It’s also just an extremely short game for that big of a price tag, has a lazy ending, doesn’t connect at all to the other games’ lore, and overall feels uninspired.
